Fremont Speedway Dirt Track News
- Mintz rebounds for Fremont 410 win; Sebetto nabs 6th 305 victory; Golembiewski tames trucks
FREMONT, Ohio - A few weeks ago Craig Mintz destroyed a car at Fremont Speedway Fueled by the FriendShip Kitchen. His team went to work and built a new car and it paid off Saturday, Aug. 8 on Fremont Federal Credit Union/S&S Hauling and Excavating Night. Mintz, a four time Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint Fremont track champion, took the lead on lap 21 from DJ Foos who had led form the drop of the green in the 30-lap affair. Foos didn't give up, racing side by side with Mintz for the next hand full of laps. Mintz was able to weave through lapped traffic to earn his 20th career victory at "The Track That Action Built." His brother-in-law Nate Dussel charged from 16th to finish second with Foos, Cap Henry and Bryce Lucius rounding out the top five. Henry's fourth place finish expands his lead in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group. Henry is trying to secure his third straight and fifth series title. "This says a lot about my guys, Chris, my dad, Heather, Cruz, Chase….busted their butts to get us a race car together. Paul Kistler rebuilt us an engine so we came here with a fresh race car and fresh bullet but we didn't know what to do and what the car was going to do. It was pretty good tonight," said Mintz beside his Real Geese Decoys, Gill Construction, Grant Decker Construction, Bettsville American Legion, KS Sales and Service, Linder's Speed Equipment backed #09. Foos led the first 11 laps of the 25-lap Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint A-main before sixth starter Bryan Sebetto took over in heavy lapped traffic. Sebetto drove away for his sixth win of the season at Fremont and his 10th overall of 2026. Foos, Steve Rando, Seth Schneider and Jamie Miller rounded out the top five. Sebetto's 34th career win at Fremont puts him into a tie for 15th on the all-time win list with hall of famer Al Franks. The win also boosts his lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series. "Nights like tonight it's not about horse power it's about getting the car locked down on the track. We tried another shock deal with Berryman Racing Shocks and it was flawless. We made some last minute changes right before I got into the car…further than we've ever went and it paid off. About the third lap in I trunked the wing and said just forget about the wing and just run the car. I could run top, middle or bottom. The car was perfect," said Sebetto beside his Coastal Cabinet and Flooring, Fremont Fence, Shelluke's Bar, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Nagy Equipment, Dockside Barbershop, Riehl Custom Fabrication, Cutting Edge Counter Tops, Schade Builder Supply, BSE Fabrication, Overwatch Precision, BRS, Race Ready Apparel, Recker Team Howard Hanna Real Estate backed #8. Toledo, Ohio's Dave "Gumby" Golembiewski took the lead from Kent Brewer on lap six and then battled with five time and defending track champion Shawn Valenti the last seven laps of the 20 lap Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck feature to secure his sixth career Fremont win. Valenti, Dustin Keegan, Keith Sorg and Steve Miller rounded out the top five in a very entertaining race. "Jamie Miller drove this thing to a win and now I got one. Ron Miller builds one hell of a truck," said Golembiewski. Fremont Speedway Fueled by the FriendShip Kitchen will be back in action Monday, Aug. 24 with the 305 Sprints and a special school bus race on the racing card to kick off the Sandusky County Fair. - Mintz Holds off Dussel for Victory at Fremont
Craig Mintz won the sprint car feature Saturday night at Fremont Speedway,
- Andrews gets last lap Fremont win; Sebetto scores 5th 305 victory; Sorg tames trucks
FREMONT, Ohio - Chris Andrews and Gauge Garcia traded sliders the final two laps and got together coming for the checkers at Fremont Speedway Fueled by the FriendShip Kitchen Saturday, July 25 with Garcia flipping off turn four and Andrews going on to score the 410 sprint feature win on Crown Battery Night. For Andrews it was nearly the exact opposite of the previous night at Attica Raceway Park where he and Bryce Lucius traded sliders late in the race, getting together with Lucius going on to the win. Garcia, from Lemoore, California, led the first 29 of the 30 lap Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint A-main before the exciting last lap. Darin Naida, Cap Henry, Trey Jacobs and Kalib Henry rounded out the top five. It was Andrews' 12th career win at Fremont Speedway. "That was kind of the opposite of my driving style lately. I finally got this thing to go the way I wanted it to. Last night was a bummer…last night hurt pretty bad. I thought we had that one wrapped up. We are finally getting this car good and the Kistler motor is ripping, the shocks are good, my entire crew is working hard…it's just good," said Andrews beside his Ohio Truck Sales, Fleet Financial, Real American Beer, Whiteford Kenworth, Erie Waste, Cintas, Fremont NAPA, Toledo Spring, TruckParts4U.com backed #15C. Andrews went from fourth to second after a caution with just five laps to go. "I was screwing around on the bottom and I was like 'screw it, we're going to pull back and send it' and we sent it. I'm glad I did it at the end. There was no way I could run 30 laps like that. Gauge put on a hell of a race. If he keeps driving like that he's going to win a lot of races," added Andrews. Cap Henry's third place finish will keep him atop the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group point standings. Paul Weaver led the first four laps of the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 feature before fifth place starter Bryan Sebetto took over. Sebetto built a nearly 3.5 second lead before a caution on lap 14. But he pulled away on the restart while the action behind him involving Weaver, Jimmy McGrath, Brenden Torok and Jamie Miller was hot and heavy. The last five laps Sebetto struggled to find his footing and Weaver closed, but was unable to get closer than a couple of car lengths at the checkers. Sebetto's fifth win of the year at Fremont came over Weaver, Miller, Torok and Dustin Dinan. It was a sweep of the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series events for the weekend as Sebetto scored the win Friday at Attica. He now has eight total wins in 2026. It was his 33rd career win at Fremont placing him 16th on the track's all-time win list. "I was getting pretty bad there toward the end of the race especially in three and four. I had to have the wing back so far to get off of two that it made me really tight on entry to three and I couldn't quite figure out how to enter one. I felt like I made really bad laps the last five laps. Happy birthday to Tony Myers, crew chief…a nice weekend sweep for all his hard work. Thanks to everyone that puts work into this car. I can't thank Bobby Clark enough for this opportunity," said Sebetto beside his Coastal Cabinet and Flooring, Fremont Fence, Shelluke's Bar, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Nagy Equipment, Dockside Barbershop, Riehl Custom Fabrication, Cutting Edge Counter Tops, Schade Builder Supply, BSE Fabrication, Overwatch Precision, BRS, Race Ready Apparel, Recker Team Howard Hanna Real Estate backed #8. Dustin Keegan led the first two laps of the Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck A-main before Keith Sorg took over. Sorg then battle with Shawn Valenti over the next seven laps with Valenti taking the lead on lap 11 and Sorg fighting back to the front a lap later. Sorg drove to his second win of the year at Fremont and the 11th of his career at the track over Steve Miller, Kent Brewer, Dave Golembiewski and Keegan. "The starter went out and it died on the last lap. - Lucius wins 410 thriller at Attica; Shiels holds off Moore for late model win; Sebetto charges to 3rd 305 victory
ATTICA, Ohio - Bryce Lucius and Chris Andrews had the big crowd on their feet at Attica Raceway Park Friday, July 24 for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Ohio Truck Sales, the Adkins Group and Wylie and Son Quarry. The pair traded sliders and banged wheels the final four laps and then Lucius had to hold off a last lap effort from Kalib Henry before securing the win, his second straight following his Brad Doty Classic victory the previous week. It was Lucius' fifth career win at Attica with Henry settling for second, Andrews, Zeth Sabo and Cap Henry (from 15th) rounding out the top five. Lucius led laps 1-25 with Andrews leading laps 26 and 27 and Lucius leading the final three circuits. "We tapped a little bit but I didn't think it was that bad. I don't have a mirror…we're going for the win and we're going to race out guts out. It's pretty cool to go back to back with everybody that's new on the race car. I can't thank Landon, my dad, Roman, my mom enough," said Lucius beside his Big Red Truck Wash, Allen Excavating, BNE Barbecue, L&L Land Solutions, J Badger HVAC, Truck Worx of Ohio, 87/40 Suspensions, Smith Titanium backed #32. Cap Henry's charge from 15th to fifth secures his lead in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group standings. Five time Attica Raceway Park champion in the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Model division Devin Shiels and two time and defending track champion Kyle Moore battled each other heard over the last six laps. The duo traded sliders for the last hand full of laps before Shiels secured his third win of the year at Attica over Moore, Matt Irey, Ryan Missler and Todd Brennan. It was Shiels 24th career win at Attica, putting him fourth on the division's all-time win list. " I'm wore out. I don't breath that hard playing basketball. That was the old cushion of the old days at Attica and there's no one better than Kyle doing it and I knew he was going to throw some haymakers at me," said Shiels beside his Magic Fountain Auto Wash, Rally's Hamburgers, Dundee Products, Banshee Graphics, Salenbein Trucking & Excavating; Hodges Multi Trade Services, Dirt Nerds Podcast backed #51. Due to the Attica challenge rule, Bryan Sebetto had to start eighth in the Fremont Fence 305 Sprint A-main but it didn't take him long to get to the front. Six time Attica champion Paul Weaver led the first 12 laps of the 25-lap affair before Sebetto took the lead. Weaver stayed close until lap 19 when a lapped car spun and collected Weaver sending him flipping and ending his night. Sebetto drove away for his third win of the year at Attica and his seventh overall victory of 2026 (4 at Fremont Speedway). It is his 20th career 305 victory at the track, placing him seventh on the all-time win list for the division. Rounding out the top five were Ben Watson, Seth Schneider, Dustin Dinan and Jimmy McGrath. Sebetto builds on his lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series standings. - Sebetto dominates for richest $5,000 305 Fremont win; DeLancey gets late model win; Miller tames trucks
FREMONT, Ohio - Bryan Sebetto continued his dominance in the 305 sprint class at Fremont Speedway presented by FriendshipKitchen Saturday, June 27, staying undefeated at "The Track That Action Built" in 2026. Sebetto, a former 410 Fremont track champion, led all 30 non-stop laps of the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 A-main to claim the richest payday of the division's history - $5,000. It was his fourth straight win at Fremont and his sixth overall victory of 2026 and a weekend sweep as he scored the win at Attica Raceway Park the night before. Sebetto lapped up to ninth place and won by nearly eight seconds over Seth Schneider, 10th starter John Ivy, Jimmy McGrath and Jamie Miller. It was Sebetto's 32nd career Fremont victory on Willie's Sales and Service Night. "We came into this as this is just another race. I've been in some pretty big races before and was fortunate to win some big races here and this ranks right up there with them. I have to thank Joe and Fran Darmofal and Rich and Shelly Farmer for putting up the money for the richest 305 race ever. Big thank you to Tony, Josh, Bobby, Butch, Hoppe, my sons, Bobby and Marilyn, my wife…they all work so hard on this team," said Sebetto beside his Coastal Cabinet and Flooring, Fremont Fence, Shelluke's Bar, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Nagy Equipment, Dockside Barbershop, Riehl Custom Fabrication, Cutting Edge, Schade Builder Supply, BSE Fabrication, Overwatch Precision, BRS, Race Ready Apparel, Recker Team Howard Hanna Real Estate backed #8. It's been a couple of years since the Ohio Valley Late Model Dirt Series has visited Fremont Speedway presented by FriendshipKitchen. Just like a few years ago, the outcome was the same - Parkersburg, W. Va. driver Corey DeLancey taking the 25 lap feature for a $2,000 payday. DeLancey led all 25 laps and had to hold off four time series feature winner Zach Milbee for his second career Fremont win. "Every time you race with Zach you know you're in for a tough battle. No quit in this team it's full of grit. My Kryptonite car was on a rail," said DeLancey beside his Kryptonite Race Cars, Cottrell Motorsports, McDonald Race Engines, Octane Race Products, Dave Poske's Performance Parts, Casey's All American Pool, JOY Construction, Velocita USA, Virginia Driveline and Differential, Ameri-Medical Waste Service, Kapple Automotive Collision Repair, McCormick's Elite Detailing, Accelerated Accounting, STAKT Products, The League Room, Slicker Graphics, Horsepower Coffee backed #C2. In a caution filled 20 laps Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck feature Jamie Miller got a call to drive a different truck and it paid off as he led the final 16 laps to score his 56th career Fremont win over Shawn Valenti, Dustin Keegan, Keith Sorg and Kent Brewer. Miller is now tied for eight all-time in feature wins at "The Track That Action Built." "Our truck motor is being rebuilt and we thought we weren't racing tonight. Ron Miller called and said his new motor was ready and would we like to race his truck and here we are," said Miller. Fremont Speedway will be back in action Saturday, July 4 with the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group 410 Sprints, Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS 305 sprints and the dirt trucks in action. - Sebetto dominates for richest $5,000 305 Fremont win
Bryan Sebetto continued his dominance in the 305 sprint class at Fremont Speedway presented by FriendshipKitchen Saturday, June 27, staying undefeated at "The Track That Action Built" in 2026.
- Cap Henry becomes 5th Ohio Speedweek winner in five events
FREMONT, OH - Cap Henry made it five different winners in five events of the 44th Annual Overwatch Precision Ohio Sprint Speedweek Presented by Kistler Engines/Kistler Racing Products, taking the $10,000 Napa Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Valvoline Oil victory Friday, June 19 at Fremont Speedway Presented by the FriendShip Kitchen. The two time and defending Fremont Speedway track champion took the lead from Cale Thomas on lap 21 and held off a big challenge from Kalib Henry following a caution with just three laps to go to score his 28th career win at "The Track That Action Built." It is Henry's 14th career All Star victory and his fifth overall win of 2026 (3 wins at Attica and 1 at Mansfield) coming on Darmofal Racing/Murphy Tractor/Autokiniton Night. "I'm glad we finally broke our streak of finishing fifth every night. My guys have worked their butts off this week and I'm glad I could finally reward them. Last year we screwed up on the speedweek finale and it cost us the championship. Hopefully we don't do that tomorrow but Danny (Dietrich) is pretty good at Wayne County so we will have to step up our game," said Henry in the Big B Coffee/Gates Corporation Victory Lane. "I knew I had to go where no one else was running and it was the top side of one and two. It was tricky but Zack and the guys had the car really good," said Henry beside his Jeff Ward Demolition, Premier Planning Services, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, The Tony Elliott Foundation, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, FK Rod Ends, Mobil 1, King Racing Products, Simpson, Keizer Wheels, Blue Stripe Equipment Rentals, Elite Wings, SCS Gearbox, Ti64, Berryman Racing Shocks, Power Cool Manufacturing, Dyer's Top Rods, Kistler Racing Products, Griff's Engines, Callie's, Factory 41, Ballistic Designs backed #33W. Thomas grabbed the early lead of the 35-lap feature with Tim Shaffer, Kalib Henry, Darin Naida and Ryan Newton in tow. Cap Henry, who started seventh, moved into the top five by lap five as Thomas pulled away from a terrific battle for second between Shaffer and Kalib Henry. Cap Henry moved into third by lap 10 as the leaders hit lapped traffic. Cap took second from Kalib Henry on lap 13 and three laps later had closed the game to leader Thomas. Following a caution on lap 19, Cap Henry immediately put pressure to the outside of Thomas and took the lead on lap 21. With five laps to go Cap's lead was over two seconds as Thomas and Kalib Henry battled for second. A caution with just three laps to go allowed Kalib Henry to shoot to the outside of Thomas on the restart and grab second and immediately closed on Cap Henry. Kalib took a couple of peaks to Cap's outside but good not get the pass as Cap took the checkers over Kalib Henry, Thomas, Naida and Bryce Lucius. In the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints Tyler Shullick looked headed to his second career Fremont Speedway win, but Bryan Sebetto had other plans. Sebetto was the only car in the top five to go to the top of the track and following a caution on lap 18, raced side by side with Shullick until taking the lead with just five laps to go. Sebetto earned his third win of the year at Fremont and his 31st career victory at the track over Shullick, Jimmy McGrath, Dustin Dinan and Jamie Miller. "Nobody was really running the top…Dustin was early in the race but he wasn't running it as hard. That was kind of my game plan going in was to run the top in one and two and go where ever I had to go in three and four. I can't say enough about Bobby Clark and Tony Myers and Josh Wagner and my wife Rian and Kurt Level," said Clark beside his Coastal Cabinet and Flooring, Fremont Fence, Shelluke's Bar, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Nagy Equipment, Dockside Barbershop, Riehl Custom Fabrication, Cutting Edge, Schade, BSE, Overwatch Precision, BRS, Race Ready, Recker Team Howard Hanna Real Estate backed #8. - Chris Andrews gets last lap, last corner pass for All Star Ohio Speedweek win
WAYNESFIELD, Ohio - Chris Andrews was determined not to let a feature win slip through his grasp Thursday, June 18 at Waynesfield Raceway Park. The Sandusky, Ohio driver got up on the wheel the last three laps and blasted around Bryce Lucius in the last corner of the last lap to score the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Valvoline Oil win during the 44th Annual Overwatch Precision Ohio Sprint Speedweek Presented by Kistler Engines and Kistler Racing Products. It was an emotional win for Andrews, who has struggled to start the 2026 season. "That last lap I said to myself 'Chris it's time to ball up and go.' My guys have worked so hard to turn this program around. You give so much to this sport and it sometimes just beats you down and I was to the point I was about to give up. I put it to the fence and drove the wheels off this thing," said Andrews beside his Ohio Truck Sales, Fleet Financial, Real American Beer, Whiteford Kenworth, BRS Shocks backed #15C. Andrews led the first 16 laps of the 35 lap feature at "The Field" before Lucius took over. Andrews fell back to third by lap 21 behind Lucius and Nate Dussel. With just seven laps to go Lucius was mired in thick lapped traffic and Dussel and Andrews closed. Andrews got around Dussel on the white flag lap and entering the final set of turns, Lucius had to make a decision with a lapped car and Andrews pounced, blast to the outside and around Lucius for his second career All Star win, his other series win coming in 2013. Lucius, Dussel, DJ Foos and Cap Henry rounded out the top five. Defending Ohio Speedweek champion Danny Dietrich's sixth place finish should put him in the lead heading into the $10,000 to win show Friday at Fremont and the $10,000 to win event at Wayne County Speedway Saturday. In the USAC D2 Midgets, Zach Wigal led all 20 laps for his second win of the year with the series. - Kalib Henry storms to Fremont win; Sebetto completes 305 weekend sweep; Valenti wins wild truck feature
FREMONT, Ohio - Since winning the Fremont Speedway presented by FriendShip Kitchen championship in 2024, California native Kalib Henry calls "The Track That Action Built" home and his favorite Ohio track. He proved it Saturday, May 30, dominating the last half of the feature event to score his eighth career 410 sprint car win on Pub 400/Autokiniton Night. Henry, the 2025 All Star Circuit of Champion titlist, started eighth in the 30-lap feature and took the lead from Zeth Sabo, who led the first 15 laps, on lap 16 and only a couple of cautions, was not deterred in his quest for the win. Sabo finished second with 13th starter Nate Dussel, Trey Jacobs and Craig Mintz rounding out the top five. "Andy (Potter, crew chief) made my job easy. That thing was an absolute beaut to drive. It would go anywhere I wanted. Made a couple of little changes racing with the shock and got the wing back. Thanks to Doc and all the sponsors. Andy and I have been busting our tails and we're on the same page and I'm looking forward to get racing here," said Henry beside his Birchard Financial, Harris Distributing, Pub 400, Running Boxer Farms, C& H Veteran Enterprises, Kleinhotz Electric Machine, Triple J Towing, Valvoline, West River Trailer Sales backed #101. Coupled with Cap Henry dropping out of the feature and his eighth place finish, TJ Michael took over the lead of the Kistler Racing Products/All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group. Bryan Sebetto made it a clean sweep of the weekend for the 305 sprints, taking the lead from Paul Weaver on lap 12 and driving to his 30th career win at Fremont. Sebetto, who won Friday at Attica Raceway Park, not has two wins at Fremont in 2026 and padded his lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series standings. Seth Schneider had a shot at Sebetto after a caution set up a green, white, checkered finish, but Sebetto hit his marks perfectly for the win over Schneider, Jamie Miller, Weaver and Steve Rando. "This is a testament to just how hard Tony Myers is working on this deal. He's dedicated his life to this race team. He spends so much time working on this race car and deserves all of this success. This means so much to me to have my boys with me this weekend. I didn't come from a racing family. About once a year my dad would bring us here and I told my brother I was going to race here one day and it's pretty cool to be out here winning races," said Sebetto beside his Coastal Cabinet and Flooring, Fremont Fence, Shelluke's Bar, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Nagy Equipment, Dockside Barbershop, Riehl Custom Fabrication, Cutting Edge, Schade, BSE, Overwatch Precision, BRS, Race Ready, Recker Team Howard Hanna Real Estate backed #8. The 20-lap Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck feature was a dandy as Shawn Valenti and Keith Sorg literally raced side by side from the fourth lap until the end. Sorg lead the opening lap with Steve Miller taking over on lap two and Sorg back to the point on lap three. Valenti inched into the lead for lap 17 with Sorg regaining the top spot a lap later. Valenti edged back out front on the white flag lap and went on to score his 92nd career Fremont win over Sorg, Kent Brewer, Art Howey Jr. and Brad Stuckey. "If fans don't like that one I'm not sure what they would like. My hats off to Keith, he raced me clean. Ninety-second win…as Kyle Busch said you need to enjoy it because you never know when or if the next one will come," said Valenti beside his Craig Miller Trucking, Conrad Transportation, Dave Story Equipment, A Plus Auto Center, Smolders Speed Concepts, Ready Mix Concrete, Holman Drilling, Kuzma Industries, S&S Hauling and Excavating backed #7B.
