Privacy and cookies

dirtfan.com is a directory of dirt tracks, race schedules, news, photos, and videos. This page describes what this site stores in your browser and which third-party services may run if you allow them. It is a description of current behavior, not legal advice.

What we store on your device

• Analytics and ads choice — in the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google's consent dialog (a certified IAB TCF consent management platform) records your choice in its own cookie (FCCDCF). Elsewhere, or if that dialog is unavailable, our own banner stores a dirtfan_consent value in local storage (accepted or declined).
• Find races — search terms travel in the page URL (q, distance, dates, class). We do not create an account for you.
• Contact form — a session cookie is used only to check the form token (CSRF). Rate limiting uses a temporary file on the server keyed to IP address.

Analytics and advertising

Google Analytics (measurement ID G-MVWSBG2YSF) and Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-6526580004341329) run by default for visitors outside the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Those companies may set their own cookies. Use Continue without (or Manage cookies in the footer) to opt out; we then do not load those scripts on this visit.

In the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google's consent dialog appears before any personalised advertising. AdSense follows the choices you make there. Google Analytics loads only if that dialog records consent for Google to store information on your device (TCF purpose 1); otherwise it is not requested at all. If the dialog cannot load (for example, it is blocked by a browser extension), our own banner asks instead.

Maps on Find Dirt Track Races uses the Google Maps JavaScript API when a browser key is configured. Location searches are geocoded in your browser with google.maps.Geocoder, so Google receives the location text needed to return coordinates. The site also has an optional legacy /api/geocode proxy, but Find Dirt Track Races does not use it.

Change your choice

Use Manage cookies or the same control in the footer. In the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland this reopens Google's consent dialog; elsewhere it shows our banner. Changing from accept to decline removes accessible dirtfan.com analytics cookies and reloads the page so ad and analytics scripts are not requested again. Cookies set directly by third parties may remain until they expire or you clear them in your browser.
