  DANE CULVER WINS TRIBUTE TO GP AT STOCKTON, SARALE CLAIMS SUPER SERIES TITLE

  Riverside's Dane Culver put a cap on a spectacular season for the inaugural WMR-BCRA Super Series on Saturday night, winning the Tribute to Gary Patterson finale for the Midget championship at Stockton Dirt Track. Culver outfoxed 2025 series champion Caden Sarale of Stockton to become the sixth different winner of the season.

  SANDERS CLAIMS TRIBUTE TO GP AT STOCKTON; NETTO EARNS NARC CHAMPIONSHIP

  (11/1/25 - Andrew Kunas) Stockton, CA ... Justin Sanders dominated and D.J. Netto just did what he needed to do, and both wound up in Stockton Dirt Track's victory lane with big smiles as Sanders won another Tribute to Gary Patterson and D.J. Netto became "King of the West" as he clinched his second NARC championship. Sanders was dominant and led all 30 laps aboard the Yuba Sutter Aviation-sponsored Mittry Motorsports No. 2x Rider-powered KPC. Sanders outmuscled pole-sitter Tim Kaeding on the start, took off and never looked back. Sanders had one scare earlier in the race, as he was trying to clear slower cars. He made contact with one slower car who then tangled with another to bring out a caution, but Sanders escaped the melee and managed to continue with the lead. Despite breaking a right rear shock when that happened, he was never seriously challenged from there. Sanders, last year's NARC champion, elected not to chase points this year, but had a spectacular season when racing with NARC. Sanders's victory on Saturday was his series leading eighth triumph for him and the Mittry Motorsports team this season. He also continued his recent dominance of the Tribute to Gary Patterson as Saturday's win was his fourth in the last six years, and with those four wins he is now tied with Brent Kaeding and Steve Kent for the most all-time in the event. Sanders's win was lucrative also, as track promoter Tony Noceti just a short time before the feature declared that it would be $10,000 to win. "I actually really needed it. I just bought a house and I'm building a shop," Sanders quipped about the surprise added payout. "I think I broke a shock or something, and I was worried on restarts but I got around on the outside good. Another big win for this team, thanks to (car owner) Demo Mittry. Awesome to close out the season with another Gary Patterson win also." Shane Golobic finished second in the NOS Energy Drink-sponsored Matt Wood Racing No. 17w Kistler-powered KPC, racing with Tim Kaeding for the position throughout the event. Kaeding finished third in the Emadco Disposal-sponsored Williams Motorsports No. 0 Maxwill-powered Maxim to complete the podium. But D.J. Netto with his fourth place finish was the biggest winner of the night. Netto needed to finish 11th or better to clinch the championship regardless of whatever Sean Becker would do. Netto's Top 5 finish aboard the Sander Engineering-sponsored Netto Ag No. 88n Rider-powered KPC was more than enough while Becker finished ninth. Netto and team celebrated on the front stretch alongside Sanders and his team. "You just didn't want to make mistakes," Netto said about just wanting to stay out of trouble and finish well in the situation he was win. "Those yellow flags came out at the right time for me. Every time we got into the traffic, the yellow flag came out for us. I just rode this thing out, got 30 good laps." Netto had three wins on the season, though it wasn't without its trials. "It was a trying year for us. I think the first championship we won, it was a trying year also. This year we had a horrible speedweek (in June), but the guys at Netto Ag were behind me all year." Tanner Holmes finished fifth aboard the American Rock & Rent-sponsored Tarlton Motorsports No. 21 Kister-powered Maxim. Tanner Carrick, Dominic Scelzi, Cannon McIntosh, Becker and Billy Aton rounded out the Top 10. Bud Kaeding finished 11th and earned the Williams Roofing Hard Charger nod. Mariah Ede finished 15th and locked up NARC Rookie of the Year honors. Tim Kaeding won the Beacon Wealth Strategies Trophy Dash to secure the pole for the feature.   Joel Myers Jr. wins the SCCT finale in Stockton/ Austin Wood wins title

  Stockton, CA…Fresh off a big score at the Trophy Cup Sebastopol's Joel Myers Jr. led all 35 laps to claim his second career SCCT victory on Friday night at the Stockton Dirt Track. Sacramento's Austin Wood also wrapped up the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour title to become the youngest champion in series history. "It feels great to win the SCCT title and become the youngest champion," Wood commented after the race. "I want to thank my family and everyone that helps us out on this 2A team. We had a consistent year and luckily, we brought home this championship." The 35-lap Shop Kyle Larson feature turned out to be a lengthy affair and saw Joel Myers Jr. charge into the lead early on. Myers had his way with things out front and was perfect on virtually every restart. Aromas driver Justin Sanders carved his way into second just past the halfway point and gave chase after the leader. With heavy lapped traffic coming into play over the waving circuits Myers had to pick his spots wisely, as Sanders hounded his rear bumper. Myers, the Nor-Cal Posse Shootout winner, made all the right moves though and grabbed the checkered for his second career SCCT triumph. Sanders crossed the stripe in second, followed by Dominic Gorden, Tim Kaeding and 14th starter Austin Wood. The battle for the final podium spot turned out to be an entertaining contest over the final 10 laps. Completing the top-10 were Dylan Bloomfield, Gauge Garcia, Andy Forsberg, Jake Haulot and Seth Standley. Dawson Hammes captured the Pit Stop USA Hard Charger Award with his drive from 24th to 11th. Wood ended up claiming the SCCT title by 69 points over Seth Standley. Cole Schroeder finished third, with Max Mittry fourth and Dawson Hammes snagging fifth in the standings.   NARC CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE CONCLUDES AT STOCKTON'S TRIBUTE TO GP

  (10/27/25 - Andrew Kunas) Stockton, CA ...A big night of racing awaits the NARC King of the West sprint car series, as the 2025 season concludes with the annual Tribute to Gary Patterson and a championship will be won Saturday night (November 1st) at the Stockton Dirt Track. Just 12 points separate a pair of former NARC champions at the top of the standings, with each man in pursuit of his second title. Hanford's D.J. Netto, the 2019 titlist, is ahead of Oroville's Sean Becker, who won his championship 20 years ago, going into what will be a hotly contested season finale. Netto has won three times this season and that includes the season opener at the Stockton Dirt Track in March when Netto won the Salute to Leroy Van Connett. He also won the last NARC event, held October 11th at Antioch Speedway. Netto and the Netto Ag No. 88n team will look for another strong performance at a track he has been successful at to wrap up a second NARC championship. Becker meanwhile is winless this season, but he has been competitive all season aboard the Don Bjork No. 7b and the "Shark" has led laps in multiple main events this year. If Becker wants to win his second championship though, he will likely need to get that first win on the season in the finale and pair that with a significantly subpar performance by Netto. With his three wins on the season, Netto owns the tiebreaker if the two drivers were to finish with identical point tallies. If Becker were to gain a point by setting fast time in qualifying and then win Saturday's Patterson Tribute, Netto would need to finish 10th place or better in the main event to clinch the title. Incidentally, neither Netto or Becker has won the race that honors the legendary Gary Patterson, at least in 410 sprint car competition, and both would love to add their name to the list of winners of the event to cap off the season. One of the all-time greats out of California, Patterson - or the "Preacher" as he was nicknamed - won races all over the West Coast and across the country, racing as a true outlaw for most of his career. Though he lost his life in a 1983 racing accident at Calistoga Speedway, Patterson's accomplishments behind the wheel of a sprint car landed him in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1998. The Tribute to Gary Patterson was first run in 1984, won by future Hall of Famer Chuck Gurney. The race had been held annually in Calistoga before moving to Stockton in recent years. The list of race winners is full of big names. Former "King of California" Steve Kent and Hall of Famer Brent Kaeding lead everyone with four wins each. Another Hall of Famer and NARC great Tim Green is a three-time winner of the event alongside Rico Abreau and Justin Sanders. Sanders won last year's Patterson Tribute to win the 2024 NARC championship in walk-off fashion after an intense points battle with Cole Macedo. Other Hall of Famers who have won the Patterson Tribute include Jimmy Sills (twice), Jeff Swindell and Paul McMahan. WHO ELSE TO WATCH Campbell's Bud Kaeding, another former NARC champion, is surprisingly one of the big names who has not won a Patterson main event, and this Saturday he will look to join his father Brent and brother Tim as a winner of the prestigious event. Kaeding, winner of the Johnny Key Classic at Ocean Speedway in August, sits third in the points going into the finale. Aromas's Justin Sanders, last year's "King of the West" who leads everyone with seven NARC victories this year aboard the Mittry Motorsports No. 2x, will look to cap off his season a win that would tie him with Brent Kaeding and Steve Kent for most Patterson wins. Fremont's Shane Golobic is still looking for his first NARC win this season but is twice a winner of the Patterson and would like to win his third on Saturday. This year's Dave Bradway Jr Memorial winner Dominic Gorden will be in attendance and is looking for a third career NARC win to cap off his season. Fresno's Mariah Ede is expected to race on Saturday and will wrap up NARC Rookie of the Year honors. Former NARC champion Dominic Scelzi of Fresno is expected, along with Templeton's Kaleb Montgomery, Lemoore's Gauge Garcia, Redding's Max Mittry, Windsor's John Clark, Gilroy's Jarrett Soares, and Benecia's Billy Aton. Saturday's event will see front gates open at 4:00 p.m. with opening ceremonies scheduled for 6:00p.m. with racing to follow. The NorCal Dwarf Cars and the BCRA/WMR midgets are also racing that night. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for juniors ages 12-17, $25 for seniors 65 and older, $25 for military, and kids 11 and under are in for $10. Saturday, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., there will be a legends autograph session in the grandstands and fans can meet some of the greats of sprint car racing from around the region. There is a Friday night show also as part of this year's Tribute to Gary Patterson, with the 360 Sprint Car Challenge Tour in action, giving two nights of sprint car action for those arriving in Stockton a day early. Sunday will see the annual NARC season ending banquet at the Brookside Country Club, honoring the season champion and other top performers during the 2025 season, and other special awards will be presented as well.   Halloween showdown wraps up SCCT season at Stockton Dirt Track Friday

  Stockton, CA…What started in March will conclude this Friday when the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour tackles the Stockton Dirt Track to open the 42nd annual Tribute to Gary Patterson on Halloween. The event has morphed back into a double header weekend with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour and West Coast Pro Stocks launching things on Friday October 31st. Kids 12 and under wearing a costume will receive free admission in the stands on Halloween. Teams are also encouraged to bring candy for a Trick or Treat in the pit area following the races. Saturday November 1st will then showcase the NARC 410 Sprint Cars, the California Midget Super Series and Dwarf Cars. Plenty of camping is available on the fairgrounds for those who want to make a weekend out of it at the Tribute to Gary Patterson. "Everyone with Noceti Group is looking forward to GP weekend this Friday and Saturday," said Stockton Dirt Track Promoter Tony Noceti. "We continue doing work on this track to try and give teams the best possible surface. Back in March it was dialed in a little more and I feel that we should have two great nights of racing to finish off the championships." The Shop Kyle Larson SCCT main event will hand out $3,000-to-win/ $400-to-start during the Halloween night spectacular. It marks the first event at the Stockton Dirt Track for the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour since last season. Sacramento youngster Austin Wood brings the point lead into the Halloween finale, as he searches to become the youngest champion in SCCT history. The 15-year-old has been an exceptional qualifier this year and hopes to finish off the title in style with a win at the Stockton Dirt Track. "We are excited for Stockton on Friday and will be looking to have a solid night," commented Wood. "My team and all our supporters have helped put us in this position heading into the SCCT finale. It would mean a lot to become the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour champion." Yuba City's Seth Standley will also be looking for a strong night to finish out the SCCT season. The 19-year-old holds down second in the standings and is 57-points back of Wood. Known as the "Dancing Phantom from Stockton," the "Preacher," the "Hostile Hippie" or just simply "GP," Gary Patterson was one of the most colorful characters of his time and captured several major wins in his career, including the Gold Cup Race of Champions, the Super Dirt Cup in Washington and the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ascot Park among others. Patterson lost his life in a Sprint Car crash at Calistoga Speedway on Memorial Day weekend 1983 and an event in his memory has been held every year since. "GP" moved to Stockton, California in 1957 and began his career at the Stockton 99 Speedway. This year marks the 13th season in a row that we've paid honor to Patterson in Stockton.   OCTOBER 25TH NARC SPRINT CAR SHOW AT BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY AT KERN RACEWAY CANCELLED

  (10/24/25) ... The Northern Auto Racing Club (NARC) and Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway have cancelled the sprint car show scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, due to concerns about a low car count. However, the CARS Tour stock car event on the adjacent half-mile paved track will proceed as planned." Recent months have seen an intense schedule of sprint car racing events, which has strained the resources and equipment of several teams. As a result, many teams are unable to participate in this event. Historically, Kern Raceway has enjoyed strong participation, making this situation unusual. Jim Allen, General Manager of NARC, stated, "Race fans deserve to see more than a dozen cars, and unfortunately, we were unable to meet that expectation this time. We believe cancelling the event is in the best interest of everyone involved, and we apologize for any inconvenience. Kern Raceway remains a first-class racing facility, and we look forward to future events.'" Following this cancellation, only one race remains on the NARC schedule: the Tribute to Gary Patterson Championship Night, taking place on November 1st at Stockton Dirt Track.

  Free admission for kids 12 and under in costume on October 31 at Stockton Dirt Track

  Stockton, CA…With the Tribute to Gary Patterson fast approaching the Stockton Dirt Track is pleased to announce there will be free admission in the stands for kids 12 and under wearing a costume during the Friday opener on Halloween. A Trick or Treat is also planned after the races in the pit area and teams are encouraged to bring candy for the youngsters as they make their way around the trailers. The Friday October 31st event marks championship night for the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour. The traveling Winged 360 Sprint Car Series has competed up and down the West Coast this year, from as far south as Tulare and as far north as Skagit Speedway in Washington. Sacramento youngster Austin Wood brings the point lead into the Halloween finale, as he searches to become the youngest champion in SCCT history. The 15-year-old has been an exceptional qualifier this year and hopes to finish off the title in style with a win at the Stockton Dirt Track. Yuba City's Seth Standley, Montana driver Cole Schroeder, Redding's Max Mittry and Marysville's Dawson Hammes round out the top five in the standings. "We look forward to finishing off the Sprint Car Challenge Tour season on Halloween night at the Stockton Dirt Track," commented tour President Scott Russell. Known as the "Dancing Phantom from Stockton," the "Preacher," the "Hostile Hippie" or just simply "GP," Gary Patterson was one of the most colorful characters of his time and captured several major wins in his career, including the Gold Cup Race of Champions, the Super Dirt Cup in Washington and the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ascot Park among others. Patterson lost his life in a Sprint Car crash at Calistoga Speedway on Memorial Day weekend 1983 and an event in his memory has been held every year since. "GP" moved to Stockton, California in 1957 and began his career at the Stockton 99 Speedway. This year marks the 13th season in a row that we've paid honor to Patterson in Stockton.   OCTOBER CLASSIC IS NEXT UP FOR THE NARC SPRINT CARS AT KERN RACEWAY

  (10/20/25 - Andrew Kunas) Bakersfield, CA ... The closing stretch of the 2025 NARC 410 Sprint Car Series campaign continues with the October Classic this Saturday (October 25th), as the series makes its only appearance of the season at the Bakersfield Speedway dirt track at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway. The October Classic combo-show also features the CARS Tour and the "Harvick Showdown" with NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick and his son Keelan racing against each other in late models on the half-mile asphalt oval. The NARC show will follow that event on the neighboring dirt track, located just outside of turn four. Race fans can purchase a $30 ticket to get into both events. The pavement race starts at 6:00 p.m., the NARC show at approximately 7:30 p.m. NARC last visited the Kern Raceway dirt track this time last year, but since then the old Bakersfield Speedway in nearby Oildale closed and its operations transferred over to the dirt track at Kern. The dirt track facility now operates as Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway. The facility has also undergone improvements since NARC's last visit, including additional seating. No matter the official name of the track, action will be hot on Saturday night with much at stake. Things remain tight at the top of the NARC standings with only two events remaining. D.J. Netto of Hanford picked up an enormous victory on October 11th at Antioch Speedway to increase his point lead over Oroville's Sean Becker, who finished fourth in that race. Just 12 points now separate the two former series champions. Netto has three NARC wins on the season, including winning both Antioch races. Becker is winless on the season but has been strongly consistent all season and more than once has knocked on the door of victory. Even with Netto winning in NARC's last outing, one misstep by Netto coupled with a strong outing by Becker - or even better, a win for him - could really shake things up for the November 1st finale at the Stockton Dirt Track. WHO TO WATCH In last year's October Classic at Kern Raceway, it was San Jose's Tim Kaeding picking up the victory. The veteran racer and former NARC champion led every lap, but had to withstand a number of race stoppages and challenges for the lead along the way. Kaeding, long one of the most popular and exciting racers out of California, will be one to watch again. Another Kaeding to watch will be Tim's brother Bud, who sits third in the NARC points. The Campbell driver won his 23rd NARC feature event of his career, winning the Johnny Key Classic at Ocean Speedway in August. Clovis driver Dominic Gorden ran a strong second in the race at Antioch and set fast time in qualifying earlier that evening. Having won the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial earlier this season and posting other podium finishes, Gorden is hoping to capture a second NARC victory on the season before the season is up. Having opened in 2015, the Kern Raceway dirt track has hosted numerous sprint car races and other open wheel events on its 1/3-mile clay oval. Shane Golobic was a NARC winner in 2022 and the following year it was Corey Day picking up a win there on his way to the 2023 NARC championship. Future NARC champion Justin Sanders picked up a win there in 2021. Mariah Ede is expected to race and will look to all but wrap up NARC Rookie of the Year honors. The young lady from Fresno has had her struggles during his first year in a 410 sprint car, but has shown speed at times also. Former NARC champion Dominic Scelzi of Fresno is expected, along with Oregon driver Tanner Holmes, Templeton's Kaleb Montgomery, Lemoore's Gauge Garcia, Redding's Max Mittry, Windsor's John Clark, Gilroy's Jarrett Soares, and Benicia's Billy Aton.   ANTIOCH SPEEDWAY OPEN WHEEL OCTOBERFEST AWAITS NARC SPRINT CARS

  (10/7/25 - Andrew Kunas) Antioch, CA ... The closing stretch of the 2025 NARC King of the West sprint car season continues this Saturday (October 11th) with the tour's second visit of the year to Antioch Speedway for the Open Wheel Octoberfest. Things have tightened up in the point standings with just three races remaining. Former series champion D.J. Netto of Hanford continues to lead in pursuit of his second NARC championship but is now holding on by a thread. Falling back to finish ninth in last Saturday's event at Thunderbowl Raceway, combined with Oroville's Sean Becker rising late to finish second, resulted in Netto's lead over Becker shrinking to just seven points. Saturday's race ironically comes at the same track where the two battled for the lead in May's Contra Costa County Clash. Becker had taken the lead, but hard racing resulted in contact between the two and Becker crashed out, and Netto went on to win his second race of the season. That was also Netto's last victory this season. Becker is winless but has been competitive all season. With the two in a close points battle with just a few races remaining, so much is on the line Saturday. Campbell's Bud Kaeding, a winner in the Johnny Key Classic in August, continues to lurk in third place in the standings, sitting a mere 21 points out of the lead. A bad night for Netto and/or Becker could potentially put Kaeding in the thick of things as well. WHO TO WATCH Tim Kaeding and the Williams Motorsports No. 0 team is expected to run the remaining NARC races this season. One of the most exciting drivers to ever come out of California, the future Hall of Famer has one NARC win to his credit this season, coming in July at Petaluma Speedway. Kaeding struggled in qualifying last Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway, but turned in a strong main event run, coming from 12th to finish fifth. Kaeding and the Zero Heroes will look to get back in the win column on Saturday. Fresno's Mariah Ede, in her first year racing 410 sprint cars, is now leading the NARC Rookie of the Year chase and is expected to race on Saturday. Joining her also is Fremont's Shane Golobic, who was the hard charger at Thunderbowl, and who won a BCRA midget race at Antioch in May and will look to pick up a sprint car win there on Saturday. Also expected to compete are reigning NARC champion Justin Sanders of Aromas, Lemoore's Gauge Garcia, Templeton's Kaleb Montgomery, Dominic Gorden of Clovis, Dylan Bloomfield of Oakley, and Max Mittry of Redding. Washington's Jesse Schlotfeldt will continue his fall swing of races in California and Oklahoma's Cannon McIntosh is expected to again pilot a Roth Motorsports entry.   Tim Kaeding returns to Thunderbowl Raceway victory lane after 10 years

  Tulare, CA…After starting on the pole San Jose's Tim Kaeding checked out from the field to earn his second career Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour triumph on Saturday night at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. Kaeding, who is the all-time leader in Winged Sprint Car wins at the track, amazingly won for the first time in Tulare since a World of Outlaws score in 2015. His victory at the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial came aboard the famed Williams Motorsports/ Emadco Disposal 0 mount. "It feels great to get back up here in victory lane at Thunderbowl Raceway," Kaeding commented. "I can't thank everyone on this 0 team enough for their support. It's been a long time since I have felt like I've been in contention at the Trophy Cup. After tonight though I feel like we have a legitimate shot at it. We are ready to get going in a couple weeks." The 30-lap Shop Kyle Larson main event started out with a red flag involving Kyle Rasmussen, who got upside down on the back stretch. He luckily emerged okay but was done for the night. When going back green again things would then go all the way throughout the conclusion. Kaeding worked lapped traffic to perfection and was never seriously challenged during the remainder of the race. He grabbed the Ed Entz pink checkered flag well ahead the rest of the field to claim the Trophy Cup Tune-Up. Redding's Max Mittry, the SCCT Speedweek champ, crossed the stripe in second to match a career best effort with SCCT, followed Oakley's Dylan Bloomfield, Fresno's Caeden Steele and Hanford's DJ Netto in the top five. Completing the top 10 were Jake Andreotti, point leader Austin Wood, Jace Park, Tanner Holmes and Pit Stop USA Hard Charger Award winner Dominic Scelzi. A total of 35 cars competed at the penultimate round of the SCCT season. Fresno's Caeden Steele began the evening by earning the Sierra Foothills Wine Services Fast Time Award by clocking a lap of 13.844 around the one third mile clay oval.   Thunderbowl Raceway hosts penultimate SCCT event this Saturday

  Tulare, CA…The Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour is set to make its annual October trip to the Central Valley for this Saturday's "Chris & Brian Faria Memorial" at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. It marks the penultimate show of the SCCT campaign and is the final opportunity for drivers to get laps at the track prior to Trophy Cup 31 on October 16th-18th. Purse info and more on the lucrative event can be found via www.tularetrophycup.com The Faria Memorial this Saturday October 4th also features the NARC 410 Sprint Cars and has long been a cornerstone on the Stone Chevrolet Buick GMC Thunderbowl Raceway schedule over the years. Chris Faria was an up and coming driver who was the youngest of five children to Danny Sr. & Arlet Faria. He grew up on their farm in Tipton and was known as the prankster of the family. Chris unfortunately lost his life at the age of 21 during a farming accident and his memory has been kept alive with a memorial race at the Thunderbowl Raceway ever since. Brian was the oldest of the five Faria children and was taken from us in January of 2006 during an accident while driving on a highway. Brian enjoyed helping out with the track preparation at the Thunderbowl, as he drove the water truck and the grader among other things. "We look forward to hosting the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial on Saturday," track GM Josh Miller said. "It's always one of the big events at Thunderbowl Raceway and having both SCCT and NARC should make for a great night of racing. We hope everyone will come out on October 4th and then return for the Trophy Cup in a couple weeks." With two events remaining in the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour season, it continues to be Austin Wood sitting atop the standings. The 15-year-old from Sacramento hung tough to record an eight-place finish during the most recent race in Petaluma and looks for another consistent outing at Thunderbowl Raceway this weekend. Wood ran eighth at Tulare during a local event in May. Yuba City's Seth Standley finished right behind Wood in the main event at Petaluma Speedway and goes into Tulare 47-markers back of the lead. Standley will be searching for a strong night at the Thunderbowl to close the gap. Rounding out the top five going into the penultimate round of the campaign are Bozeman, Montana's Cole Schroeder, Redding's Max Mittry and Marysville's Dawson Hammes. Comprising the remainder of the top 10 are Brentwood's Adrianna Demartini, Santa Rosa's Tyler Cato, Elk Grove's Bubba Decaires, Marysville's Carson Hammes and El Cajon's Braden Chiaramonte. The SCCT stop at Thunderbowl Raceway last year was captured by Lincoln's Tanner Carrick over Central Valley racer Caeden Steele and San Jose's Tim Kaeding.   NARC BEGINS HOME STRETCH WITH CHRIS & BRIAN FARIA MEMORIAL AT TULARE

  (9/30/25 - Andrew Kunas) Tulare, CA ... The closing stretch of the 2025 NARC King of the West sprint car season is upon us. The first of four races in five weeks is this Saturday as the NARC teams tackle the famous Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare for the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial. This action-packed racing card will also feature the Sprint Car Challenge Tour 360's. The race is one of the cornerstone events at the popular 1/3-mile clay oval. First contested in 2002, the event honors a pair of brothers from the Faria family, longtime participants in California racing. Chris Faria, who was an up and coming racer, passed away after a farming accident in 1993. His older brother Brian, who was active behind the scenes at Thunderbowl Raceway, tragically passed away in early 2006 in a traffic accident, and Brian's name was soon put alongside his brother's for this race. The 2025 race was originally scheduled for April 26th, but Mother Nature interfered and forced its postponement. NARC and Thunderbowl Raceway officials agreed to reschedule the event for October 4th to start a busy stretch to finish NARC's season. The event, held at one of California's most challenging dirt tracks, has long been looked forward to by NARC competitors and fans, and the list of past winners of the race reads like a who's who of west coast sprint car racing. Jason Meyers, a future World of Outlaws champion, won the inaugural event in 2002. National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Brent Kaeding won it twice in the latter years of his legendary career. A young kid named Kyle Larson, years before the NASCAR world got to know him, was the 2010 winner of the race. NARC champions such as D.J. Netto and Kyle Hirst are also past winners. Last year's event, ironically postponed by weather to a later date also, was won by Cole Macedo aboard the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21. WHO TO WATCH Speaking of NARC champions, former series champ D.J. Netto, who lives just down the road from Thunderbowl Raceway in Hanford, holds a slim 14-point lead over another former champion in Sean Becker of Oroville. Netto has two NARC wins to his credit this season, but hasn't won since May. Netto, however, has seen success in Tulare over the years, including winning the 2015 edition of the Faria. Netto hopes his past success at Thunderbowl Raceway will continue as he seeks his second NARC championship. After winning six NARC races during the summer with Australian ace James McFadden in cockpit, the Tarlton Motorsports team will welcome back Oregon's Tanner Holmes, who piloted the car back in the spring. Holmes was victorious in NARC competition with the Tarlton team in May when he took the first of the Twin 20's at the Morrie Williams Memorial in Tulare. After piloting his family's car during the summer, Holmes will rejoin the Tarlton's and is hoping for a repeat of May this Saturday. Between Holmes and McFadden, the seven NARC wins by the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21 team are tied for the most this season with the Mittry Motorsports No. 2x, all of theirs with Justin Sanders behind the wheel. The second of the Twin 20's in May was won by Caeden Steele, and it was the young Fresno-area driver's first NARC win. Steele is another driver hoping that past history will repeat itself on Saturday. Sean Becker, despite running second in points, is winless this season, but has been competitive all season and is coming off a podium run at the last NARC race at Placerville Speedway on September 6th. Another driver expected this Saturday include Campbell's Bud Kaeding, a winner in August at the Johnny Key Classic at Ocean Speedway. Kaeding enters the night third in the points, just 23 tallies back of Netto with four races remaining. Also expected this Saturday are Dominic Scelzi of Fresno, Dominic Gorden of Clovis, Mariah Ede of Fresno, Gauge Garcia of Lemoore, Shane Golobic of Fremont, Billy Aton of Benicia, John Clark of Windsor, Kaleb Montgomery of Templeton, Tanner Carrick of Lincoln, Landon Brooks of Rio Oso, Oakley's Dylan Bloomfield and Cannon McIntosh from Bixby, OK. Arlington. Washington's Jesse Schlotfeldt will be making the journey from the Pacific Northwest also to join NARC for its remaining races. Schlotfeldt won his first career NARC event in June at Cottage Grove Speedway. Grandstand tickets are $35, and $33 for seniors. Bleacher seats are $30 for adults, $28 for seniors and $15 for kids 12 and under. Pit passes are $45. Front gates open at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:45 with qualifying at 6:00 and racing beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thunderbowl Raceway is located along K Street at the Tulare County Fairgrounds.   Petaluma Speedway Adobe Cup welcomes SCCT this Saturday

  Petaluma, CA…With the season winding down the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour is prepared to sanction the $5,000-to-win "Adobe Cup" at Petaluma Speedway this Saturday September 20th. The evening of family fun at the 14th annual Adobe Cup marks the final appearance of the season for SCCT at Sonoma County's longest running entertainment venue. Following this Saturday's outing the Sprint Car Challenge Tour will have just two events remaining in 2025. Adding to the excitement at the event will be the annual Bob McCoy Super Stock Memorial, along with the BCRA-WMR Midget Super Series. The familiar Petaluma 3/8-mile oval routinely produces thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing, as lapped traffic can create some of the most frenetic competition of any venue on tour. Please note the facility features an earlier start time, with the Pit Meeting at 3:45pm and cars on track around 4. "We look forward to having the Sprint Car Challenge Tour as part of the 14th annual Adobe Cup this weekend," said Petaluma Promoter Rick Faeth. Wood hopes to secure his first win of the season at the Adobe Cup. Yuba City's Seth Standley has moved to second in the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour standings following Speedweek. Standley finds himself 46 points back of Wood and will be gunning for a solid night at the Adobe Cup to help close the gap. Cole Schroeder has also been a common sight this year and has positioned himself third in the points with three shows remaining. The Bozeman, Montana driver stands 50 markers out of the top spot heading into the $5,000-to-win Adobe Cup. Western Sprint Tour Speedweek champion Max Mittry of Redding and Marysville's Dawson Hammes complete the top five in the Sprint Car Challenge Tour standings with three rounds left.
