  Over $21K Purse Awaits GLSS During Ron Kahle Memorial Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park

  Lima, OH - Last week, officials from the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS), in conjunction with Limaland Motorsports Park, announced that the Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial/K&L Ready Mix Clash on Friday, June 5th, would pay a record-setting $6,000 to win. The benchmark winner's share of the purse had already made the show the richest purse in GLSS history. As of Sunday night, even more sponsors have stepped forward to increase the overall purse to over $21,000 on Friday night. On Friday, May 15th, the GLSS unloaded at Limaland Motorsports Park for what was, at the time, the richest purse in history with a $ 5,000-to-win affair in the Run for the Rabbit. Mason Hannagan grabbed the win, his first, and joined his dad, Randy, on the list of Run for the Rabbit winners. The Run for the Rabbit pulled in over 30 cars looking for a chance at the increased payday. This Friday, it's not just the winner's share that sees an increase. In addition to the $6,000 to win, the race will also pay $600 to start, a nod to the six years since Ron Kahle's passing. Sponsors making the event possible include Ohio Logistics Warehousing & Transportation, Miami Auto Paint & Equipment, Tim Goan's Carpets, Texas Roadhouse of Lima, University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), and GreatLakesSprints.TV. Ron Kahle, Jr is credited with being a helping hand for a lot of different things; from motorsports to community, many remember Kahle, Jr for his support. In motorsports, he's remembered as one of Limaland Motorsports Park's biggest supporters. He helped make sure 360 Sprint Car Racing stayed relevant in Northwest Ohio for many years. In the community, a Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial Shelter house was erected at Deters Park in honor of his selfless acts around Putnam County and the surrounding areas. "Ron is deeply missed by so many in the racing community," said Limaland Motorsports Park General Manager Stephanie Swallow. "His contributions to local, regional, and even national racing are still being felt today. We feel so privileged to be able to honor his memory and legacy with the running of the Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial, and are thrilled to have others step up to make it even bigger." The $6,000 to win, $600 to start Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial is Friday, June 5th at Limaland Motorsports Park for the Great Lakes Super Sprints.   Been Long Enough: Dustin Daggett Breaks Nearly Two Year Winless Streak; Dominates I-96 Speedway

  Lake Odessa, MI - There are drivers that you just expect to win. When they're on the race track, you know they can, and they should, get the job done. Portland, Michigan native, Dustin Daggett, is no exception. In a career that has spanned nearly a quarter of a century, Daggett has won in every season he's raced in, except one: 2025. His stats last year were great, 27 races with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS), and 21 top five finishes, including countless runner-up finishes. Friday night at I-96 Speedway, fans were in attendance for a classic "Double D" performance around the high-speed 4/10ths mile in West Michigan. Rolling off on the outside of the front row with Chase Dunham, Daggett secured the lead at the exit of turn two, and made it clear he had a rocketship of a race car. At one point, Daggett opened up a nearly two-second advantage over Dunham, including while working through lapped traffic. A caution at the halfway point of the race put everyone on the edge of their seats. Dunham took a swipe to the inside of Daggett on the restart, but never could officially take the lead away from the 2018 GLSS Champion. With five laps to go, Daggett's car clearly changed as his pace fell off. Dunham and third-place-running Scott Bogucki were tracking Daggett down. It was clear Daggett was going to need to earn his win on Friday night. That was, until Bogucki threw a tight slider on Dunham at the exit of turn four. The move cost both drivers their momentum and allowed Daggett to pull away with the win. "It's been long enough," Dagget said in Victory Lane. "I've really got to thank my Grandpa, he does everything on these cars; he does all the maintenance, he does a ton of stuff. Everybody that touches this car, they do a hell of a job. The car started to get pretty tight on me there at the end." "Last year was the first year I didn't win a feature," Daggett said when asked if this was the toughest stretch of his career. "A lot of second places, but in my book that's just the first loser. Had a lot of those last year, but a good start this year." Bogucki held on to second, Max Stambaugh worked his way to third, with Brad Lamberson getting around Dunham late to finish out the top five.   GLSS Kicks off Sprint Car Week in Michigan Friday at I-96 Speedway

  Lake Odessa, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are back in action this Friday night at I-96 Speedway. The first scheduled trip to West Michigan was washed away in April, leaving this post-Memorial Day show as the appetizer for a busy week of Sprint Car racing in Michigan. Coming into Friday night's show, just three races have been completed toward the run for a GLSS championship in 2026. Seven scheduled shows have been lost to Mother Nature or adverse track conditions as a result of Mother Nature. Because of this, Zane DeVault remains the current Championship Points leader heading into the weekend. DeVault is two-for-three so far this season with GLSS, grabbing wins in the season opener at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 25th and again at Shadyhill Speedway on May 16th. DeVault holds a 74-point lead over four-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh on the Tour, and a 12-point lead over 2018 Tour Champion, Dustin Daggett in the North Division standings. I-96 Speedway has always been a roll of the dice on who will end up in GLSS Victory Lane. Since the first race on July 31, 2016, a total of 18 different drivers have won at I-96. Since winning the debut in 2016, inaugural GLSS Champion Chase Ridenour has been held out of the limelight in Lake Odessa.   Dangerous Track Conditions Force Cancellation of GLSS Event at Hartford Speedway

  Hartford, MI - Officials with Hartford Speedway and the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP have made the difficult decision to cancel the event scheduled for Friday, May 8th. A dangerous racing surface and consideration for the race teams are the causes for the cancellation. Officials at Hartford Speedway have made several improvements to the facility this winter and spring, including adding new clay around the race track. However, due to the excessively wet and cold conditions in southern Michigan this spring, the track is too soft to prepare and will undoubtedly cause mechanical failures and accidents if raced on. Officials with the GLSS are thankful to the staff and promoters of Hartford Speedway for making this decision, saving teams from the potential strain of a rough race track. The next event for Hartford Speedway is scheduled for Friday, May 15th, featuring the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Presented by CAT Rental Stores. For the Great Lakes Super Sprints, the next event is Friday, May 15th for the $5,000 to win Run for the Rabbit from Limaland Motorsports Park.   Great Lakes Super Sprints Open Hartford Speedway Friday Night

  Hartford, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP will help kick the gates open at Michigan's Hartford Speedway this Friday night. One of the most technically challenging tracks on the circuit, Hartford Speedway offers teams an early-season opportunity to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Likewise, the tough-to-navigate third turn could also be an early-season troublemaker. Hartford Speedway has long been a staple on the GLSS schedule, going back to the inaugural season in 2016. Dustin Daggett grabbed the win and the fast qualifier honors that season during the lone race held in July. Friday will mark the 19th different race held at Hartford. In that time, 10 different drivers have gone to victory lane. The West Michigan facility has a habit of producing first-time winners with GLSS. Last season, Chase Dunham earned his first career win with the Tour after setting fast time earlier in the night. Dunham was a former track record holder at Hartford Speedway, setting the mark in 2020 before Tylar Rankin blistered a new record in 2022 with a 14.647, which remains the current record. Keith Sheffer, Jr and Jay Steinebach also reside on the list of drivers who earned their first career GLSS wins at Hartford Speedway. For Dunham, Sheffer, and Steineback, the wins serve as their only breakthroughs with the Series to date. Former GLSS Champion, Ryan Ruhl, also notched his first GLSS win at Hartford Speedway in June of 2019. Since then, Ruhl has gone on to collect 10 career GLSS wins, three of which have come from Hartford. The GLSS roll into Hartford having completed just one points-paying race this season, going back to Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 25th. Zane DeVault grabbed the win after a pair of engine failures for Jared Horstman and Clinton Boyles. DeVault currently sits atop the GLSS points championship hunt, but is expected to miss Hartford on Friday.   Limaland & Montpelier On Tap This Weekend for Great Lakes Super Sprints

  Merrill, MI - With one points-paying race in the books for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, the season rolls on with a huge doubleheader weekend in Buckeye country, and in the land of the Hoosiers. Limaland Motorsports Park is slated to open the 2026 season with GLSS on Friday, May 1st, while Montpelier Speedway welcomes GLSS alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints on Saturday, May 2nd. A staple on the GLSS schedule, Limaland Motorsports Park has long played host to 360 Sprint Car racing. Friday's season opener for the track will be the 22nd contest held at the University of Northwestern Ohio playground. Many of Ohio's best have GLSS-sanctioned wins at the facility, including Devon Dobie, Jac Nickles, and Randy Hannagan. Other winners include Dustin Daggett, Dylan Westbook, and Tylar Rankin. But, only a select few have multiple GLSS wins at Limaland. Jared Horstman, who had a chance to go back to victory lane in 2025 as part of his seven-win season, has been held out of the win column at Limaland since winning a pair of events in his championship-winning 2017 season. Nate Dussel is part of the multiple-wins club thanks to his feature wins in June of 2023. Likewise, Creed Kemenah has two GLSS wins at Limaland to his credit from the 2023 season. Luke Griffith also had himself a multi-win season in 2023, grabbing wins in May and July. Only two drivers can say they've won more than two GLSS races at Limaland in their career, though. World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender, Kasey Jedrzejek has three feature wins to his credit, the first coming in July of 2024. The LaGrange, Ohio native added his second win Memorial Day Weekend last year, and picked up his third win on July 4th.The all-time GLSS wins leader at Limaland is four-time and defending Series Champion, Max Stambaugh. The Smith Motorsports driver grabbed his first career win in front of his home crowd on May 2nd of 2025, part of a four-win season in Lima and nine overall wins for the year. On Saturday, the sanction returns to Montpelier Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana for the first time in nearly a decade. In fact, Winged Sprint cars have been absent from Montpelier Speedway since the last Great Lakes Super Sprints' event in July of 2019. Jared Horstman grabbed the inaugural event on July 29, 2017, as part of an 11 win season for the two-time GLSS Champion. The next two shows, however, went to 2018 GLSS Champion, Dustin Daggett, with wins in July of 2018 and July of 2019. The Great Lakes Super Sprints take on Montpelier Speedway alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints, who make their Montpelier Speedway debut on Saturday night.   Crystal Clear Night! DeVault Sweeps GLSS Opener at Crystal

  Crystal, MI - There are some nights that it seems everyone and everything is working against you. Then, there are nights where it seems nothing can go wrong, and all you have to do is hang on and celebrate. Saturday night with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, Plymouth, Indiana's Zane DeVault enjoyed the latter. Drawing a late bid in Ti22 Performance Qualifying, the Randerson Racing No.14 questioned what kind of qualifying attempt they would get when they rolled to the race track. That question was answered quickly when DeVault rocketed to the top of the board. The next lap? A new. Track. Record. 11.930 breaks Ryan Turner's track record from 2025 of 11.948. DeVault had no issues in his heat race either, finding victory lane in the opening heat race of the night. The only thing you could say didn't go perfectly for DeVault on Saturday night was the redraw, where he pulled the three. Clinton Boyles, who made his Great Lakes Super Sprints debut, and Jared Horstman led the field to green for the 25 lap main event. Horstman and Boyles wasted no time battling for the top spot, exchanging slide-jobs in the opening three rotations around the speedway. A pair of quick cautions kept the field close, but Horstman appeared to have the car to beat. On a restart, DeVault began making his charge, getting back to third around Dustin Daggett. In lapped traffic, DeVault and Boyles began closing in on Horstman when suddenly, Boyles' car slowed entering turn three and coasted to a stop, prompting another yellow. During that caution period, suddenly Jared Horstman exited the race track with what would later be explained as an engine failure, handing things over to DeVault. With 11 laps to go, DeVault set sail and opened up a straightaway lead on Daggett in the final laps, going on to collect the third GLSS win of his career, and first since October 6, 2024. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Friday, May 1st at Limaland Motorsports Park and Saturday, May 2nd at Montpelier Speedway.   I-96 Speedway Opener Featuring Great Lakes Super Sprints Cancelled Due to Storm Threat

  Officials with I-96 Speedway and the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP have announced that the race, scheduled for Friday, April 24th, has been cancelled due to forecasted rain and storms. After extensive observation of the forecast, it was determined that the threat of rain and potentially strong storms was highest at the time when gates and on-track action would begin.

  Great Lakes Super Sprints Event at Montpelier Speedway Suspended Pending Reschedule Date

  Montpelier, IN - Officials with Montpelier Speedway and the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT and ARP have suspended the race scheduled for Saturday, April 18th. Flooding and continued rainfall have led to the decision to suspend the event. Officials are working on finding a suitable reschedule date for the return of Winged Sprint Cars to Montpelier Speedway in 2026. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Friday, April 24th, at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI. GLSS will race alongside the local divisions serving as the season opener at I-96, before rolling on to Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 25th.   Officials with Montpelier Speedway and the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT and ARP have suspended the race scheduled for Saturday, April 18th. Flooding and continued rainfall have led to the decision to suspend the event. Officials are working on finding a suitable reschedule date for the return of Winged Sprint Cars to Montpelier Speedway in 2026.
