- Sprint Cars, Stock Cars, Bicycle Giveaways and Family Fun Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway
Perris, California — August 10, 2026 — Perris Auto Speedway roars back to life this Saturday, August 15, when Heimark Distributors Anheuser-Busch presents the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars along with PASSCAR Super Stocks, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks. In addition to a full night of wheel-to-wheel racing, fans will enjoy bicycle giveaways, a kids' dance battle, T-shirt launches, the Heat Race Hero Contest and more. It all adds up to a fast-paced night of racing and family entertainment at the famous Riverside County clay oval. Two of the hottest sprint car drivers at The PAS will be in action. Peoria, Arizona youngster Connor Lundy dominated the most recent race for his first USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Car victory. At the previous event, he finished second behind 2023 series champion Brody Roa. Roa made his 2026 debut at the Salute to Indy and immediately finished second behind two-time defending champion RJ Johnson of Laveen, Arizona. He went one better in June, scoring the victory at Perris. Last month, Roa was third-fastest in qualifying before mechanical problems struck on his second lap. Shaver Engineering returned the repaired engine Monday night, and Roa will be ready to rumble Saturday. In addition for USAC/CRA fans, longtime USAC/CRA media guru Lance Jennings is bringing in longtime series star Matt Mitchell before Saturday's race for one of his "Heroes and Legends Meet and Greets." Popular Mitchell will be talking racing, and signing autographs for fans. The PASSCAR championship battles are heating up as well. Two-time champion Rick Arringdale of Victorville leads good friend John Caley by 12 points in the Super Stocks. Arringdale's most recent PAS championship came 25 years ago in 2001. In the Factory Stocks, Canyon Lake realtor David Stites, winner of three of the last four championships, has taken over the point lead after a victory and a second-place finish in the last two races. The top four are separated by only six points. Cameron Broe of Ramona trails by three, Andrew Schmitz of Ramona is four back, and 2023 champion Kris Carnish of Menifee sits just six points out of the lead. Chad Mahony of Yorba Linda leads the Street Stocks by 12 points over George Leventis of Rancho Palos Verdes. Mahony's teammate, Morgan Rowlan of Riverside, is third as Mahony continues his pursuit of his first PAS championship. The excitement will continue during intermission when three lucky fans will win brand-new kids' bicycles. Every fan entering the speedway will receive a free raffle ticket, with three winning numbers drawn during the break. Kids will also take center stage in the always-popular dance battle, with the top dancers receiving free track T-shirts. Meanwhile, the PAS crew will launch additional shirts into the grandstands. Sprint car fans will also have a chance to participate in the Heat Race Hero Contest. Randomly selected fans who correctly pick a heat race winner will receive four free tickets to a future Perris Auto Speedway event. The action continues one week later on August 22 when the wildly popular Night of Destruction returns for another evening of motorized mayhem. The August schedule wraps up Saturday, August 29, with 600cc Winged Restricted Micro Sprints, Non-Wing A-Class Micros, Lightning Sprints and Dwarf Cars. It will mark the first-ever Micro Sprint event at the 30-year-old speedway and the first Perris appearances in several years for the Lightning Sprints and Dwarf Cars. Entry forms for the Micro Sprints and Dwarf Cars, along with purse information for all four classes, are available at perrisautospeedway.com. - Pokorski tallies top five at Wilmot Raceway
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 11, 2026 - Alex Pokorski and the GR8 Team turned in a 2026 season-best fourth-place showing in an open 410 Sprint Car event at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 8. Pokorski opened the night by qualifying fourth in the 14-car field with a lap of 12.736 seconds on the venerable three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval. After starting and finishing second in the second eight-lap heat race, Pokorski earned a spot in the four-lap dash to set the front two rows of the main event. A fourth-place dash showing gave the seventh-year Sprint Car competitor an outside second row starting spot in the 20-lap headliner. The West Bend, Wis. native stayed inside the top five throughout the non-stop race, coming home with a season-best fourth-place A-main finish. "It was a good night," Pokorski said. "We had a shock go bad for the heat race, but I managed to hold onto a dash spot. The track was a bit treacherous with a big curb in the feature, but I had fun racing on it. I'm happy to have a good result." The next confirmed event for the Alex Pokorski-GR8 Team is a doubleheader with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19. - Thomas Tops Empire Super Sprints Field at Cornwall
By Curtis Berleue (Cornwall, ONT) | On Sunday night in Cornwall, Jordan Thomas picked up his first Empire Super Sprints win of the season over Alex Therrien and Shawn Donath. Thomas led 20 laps after starting on the pole to earn $2,000 and extend his Transport Benoit Lafleur Canadian Tour points lead. Jordan Thomas and Alex Bergeron would lead the field to the initial green, with Bergeron jumping out to an early lead. His lead was short lived though, as the field was stopped by a red flag for Evan Reynolds flipping in turn four. When racing resumed, Bergeron again took the lead, with Thomas and Alex Therrien falling in line behind him. As the leaders entered lap traffic, Bergeron maintained pace until making contact with a lap car, resulting in a flip in turn one. As Thomas inherited the lead on the ensuing restart, he was able to maintain it through multiple restarts and heavy lap traffic. Jordan Poirier had entered a podium spot, from his eighth-place starting position, only to be involved in an incident with four laps to go, effectively ending his night. Thomas would have to survive one final restart with a lap remaining, but was able to hold on to capture his first Empire Super Sprints win of the 2026 season. "Bergeron really set a good pace there at the beginning," said Thomas in victory lane. "It was just equal with those lap cars. We'd catch them in a couple laps and they were kind of all over the place and hard to judge." "I don't know what it is about this track, it's kind of like Outlaw down home and I go pretty good there so I'm always really excited to get back here, I wish it was on the schedule a little bit more." Alex Therrien held on for a second-place finish. "I think I was too gentle with the lap cars," said Therrien. "I tried my best, but Jordan was very fast." Shawn Donath rounded out the Ashely Lynn Winery podium with a third place finish. "These guys have got my car driving super good, this is a new car and it's been driving extremely well since we got it out of the box," said Donath. "The restarts - they were starting really early so when you were back a couple of rows, it made it extremely difficult to keep up." With 24 cars signed in, the field was split into three timed hot lap groups. Rifenburg Contracting fast time awards went to Mathieu Bardier, Shawn Donath and Jason Barney. Elab Smokers Boutique heats were won by Jordan Poirier, Jeremy Lafleur and Joe Trenca. The Empire Super Sprints will now have a week off, followed by another trip north of the border - this time to Autodrome Granby on Friday August 21, and Autodrome Drummond on Saturday August 22. - 34th Annual Topless 100 Awaits Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Batesville Motor Speedway
BATAVIA, OH (August 10, 2026) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads to Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, Arkansas, this Friday and Saturday, August 14-15, for the 34th Annual Ace Doran Topless 100 presented by Big River Steel. One of the most recognizable events on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series calendar, the Topless 100 puts a unique twist on Super Late Model racing as competitors remove the roofs from their cars for the weekend. The two-day event will feature a pair of preliminary features Friday before Saturday night's 100-lap finale, which will pay $50,000 to the winner. On Friday, Pit gates will close at 2:30 p.m. and reopen at 3 p.m., with the general admission gates opening at 4 p.m., followed by the drivers meeting at 7 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. Two preliminary events will be held on Friday, each offering a $5,000-to-win prize. The field will be divided into two groups based on a pill draw, with each group competing in a full program of Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and their respective 25-lap segments A-Main. The top 16 drivers in points from Friday's preliminary events will automatically qualify for the A-Main on Saturday, while the remaining drivers will start in a B-Main. Championship night begins with pit gates opening at 4 p.m. The grandstands also open at 4 p.m. Fans will have an opportunity to meet the drivers during an autograph session from 6:15-7 p.m., with hot laps beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT. The on-track action begins with Dirt Draft Hot Laps at 7:30 PM, followed by B-Mains for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The weekend then reaches its climax with the 34th Annual Topless 100 - a 100-lap Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series A-Main paying $50,000 to win. The runner-up will collect $20,000, third pays $10,000, and each of the 24 feature starters is guaranteed at least $2,000 from the $150,000 Saturday night purse. Placerville, CA…Chance Grasty made a bold move during a lap 17 restart to grab the lead and go on to record his second career Placerville Speedway victory on Saturday night. Fellow winners at Red Hawk Resort + Casino Night included Rod Oliver with the Kings Meats Ltd. Late Models, Nick Baldwin with the Red Hawk Casino Pure Stocks and Michael Tobiason with the Nor-Cal Dwarf Cars. The 30-lap Thompson's Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Car feature began with Justyn Cox jumping out to the lead and having his way with things for much of the contest. Numerous slowdowns were seen during the main event, but Cox was perfect on each and every restart for a majority of the contest. Chance Grasty had methodically worked his way forward though and was determined to pounce as the race wound down. Grasty charged into second on lap 16 and would make the race changing move on a restart to blast around Cox for the top spot. Once taking over the lead on lap 18 Grasty walked away to claim the Ed Entz checkered flag over Cox, Jake Morgan, Tanner Carrick and Kenny Wanderstadt. A strong field of 29 Sprint Cars competed on Saturday night. Yuba City's Rod Oliver claimed the Ltd. Late Model feature for his second win of the year over Tyler Lightfoot and Clark Gougliomani. Kevin Jinkerson led early in the Pure Stock main event until encountering issues right when Nick Baldwin made the move by on lap 14. Baldwin went on to claim his 47th career Placerville Speedway win over Lightfoot and Ray Trimble. The Nor-Cal Dwarf Car feature provided excitement with multiple drivers from Southern California battling up front. Robert Peters led early until Michael Tobiason charged past to grab the lead. He then had to withstand the challenges of Darren Brown but hung tough and claimed the checkered flag for his first career Placerville Speedway. - Back to School Night and Lasting Legends Night takes place this Friday at Big Diamond Speedway
(Minersville, PA 8-7-26) After falling victim to rain for just the second time this season, Big Diamond Speedway will be back in action this coming Friday evening, August 14 for Back to School Night and Lasting Legends Night. Thanks to Foran's Transmission & Auto Repair along with Palermo's Pizza there will be backpacks for the kids filled with school provisions to be handed out while supplies last and face painting too by Silly Smiles Face Painting and Magic Mirror Face Artistry. Kids under 16 are free! Lasting Legends has become a fan favorite evening as past greats are invited for a special meet and greet prior to the races getting underway. This year's Lasting Legends line-up includes 1993/94 Street Stock champion Bruce Williams, Dick Maberry, a popular Modified star during the latter half of the 1970s, Terry Peters, who competed in Sportsman Modifieds, ace Modified standout Davey Wenger, repeated Street Stock and Modified winner Keith Trumbo and Frankie Burke who not only raced at the track but worked for a stint as the announcer. The Dog Pound will also be giving away special prizes for the "Best Vintage T-Shirt." The race line up will consist of the BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman, Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman and the River Valley Builders 305 PASS Sprinters. The Red white and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunners have the night off. Friday will be the first of just four regular season point races that remain for the 358 Modifieds and 602 Crate Sportsman Modifieds. After 16 events for the 358 Mods defending class champion Louden Reimert leads in the standings over Mike Lisowski and Timmy Buckwalter with Duane Howard and Logan Watt filling out the top five. Reimert has also scored the most wins thus far with four. The 602 Crate Sportsman have run 14 features to date and coming off his class leading fourth victory, Ryan Graver sits atop the rankings over Zach Steffey and Dakota Kohler. The PASS 305 Sprinters are sure to attract a strong field of cars, as they always do, and deliver the terrific racing fans have come to expect whenever the class visits Big Diamond Speedway. There have been four different winners this season with the Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman including most recent first time victor Mason Harakel. - Gunn Memorial Next At Williams Grove, Wagaman And Locke Lead Points
Mechanicsburg - There will be no racing at Williams Grove Speedway on August 14 as the track takes a scheduled week off from racing action. The next slated event will be Friday night, August 21 when "Tires" on Netflix will present the 44th annual Jack Gunn Memorial for Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars. The 30-lap Gunn Memorial, run in honor of the former oval and NSCHOF promoter, will pay $8,000 to win. The Gunn Memorial will be part of the Hoosier Diamond Series and the PA Posse 410 Sprint Series at Williams Grove. The event will also include the Sportsman Showdown, offering twin 20s for the winged and non-wing super sportsman. The sportsman will compete in features only. At this point in the season with the final weeks of action dawning, Hanover's Troy Wagaman Jr. currently leads the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint point standings as he works to record a second consecutive track title for car owner Mike Heffner. Chase Dietz is currently 340 points back of leader Wagaman. In the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprint points standings, Derek Locke is the current point leader by just 20 markers over Cody Fletcher. In other news, Williams Grove Speedway has made a change to its 410 sprint schedule to begin the month of September. Originally slated to be the Dave Blaney Tribute race for 410 sprints on September 4, a scheduling conflict has caused the event to be changed to a 30-lap Fall Championship for 410 sprint cars. - Josh Rice Scores Biggest Win of His Career with First North/South 100 Title
WALTON, KY (August 8, 2026) - Josh Rice finally sealed the deal Saturday night, capturing the biggest win of his career at his home track with a victory in the 44th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 Presented by Lucas Oil at Florence Speedway. Rice earned a career-high $75,000 before a packed grandstand. Rice and Jonathan Davenport endured a wild, lead-swapping duel, with Rice leading the final two laps to earn the victory at the track where he began his career in an open-wheel modified. Luke Morey, making his first North-South 100 start, finished third, followed by Devin Moran and Brandon Overton. Dan Ebert took the lead at the start and paced the first seven laps before Davenport took over the top spot. On a lap 11 restart, Ebert's driveline broke, causing him to slow coming off turn four and triggering a 15-car pileup. The incident eliminated LOLMDS championship points leader Brandon Sheppard and Bobby Pierce, who was seeking his fourth consecutive North-South 100 victory. After a lengthy cleanup, Davenport maintained the lead until lap 25, when Kyle Bronson took over the top spot. Bronson and Davenport were battling for the race lead when the two made contact coming off turn two, sending Davenport spinning into the inside berm. Bronson then led until lap 62, when Devin Moran took over. Moran held the lead until Davenport, who had pitted for repairs following the lap 51 incident, charged back to the front. Davenport's lead was short-lived, as Moran regained the top spot on lap 85. Davenport answered immediately, passing Moran to retake the lead on lap 86. Davenport held the lead until Rice charged from fourth and caught him as the duo raced to the white flag. Rice took the lead off turn four, then lost it between turns three and four after getting into the wall on the final lap. He drove back underneath Davenport to take the checkered flag. In Wieland Victory Lane for the fifth time in his career, the current O'Reilly Auto Parts Rookie-of-the-Year points leader reflected on the victory. "I am a frickin' North-South 100 winner. We put on four different tires, wrecked three different times and we had a Daytona 500 crash on the front stretch. It worked out and I didn't even know I had a left front. I had about six pep talks when I pitted. I am speechless. What just happened? I can't thank my dad and mom enough for everything. We have made a mess of this race so many times. I just can't thank my sponsors enough throughout the years, and just everybody who stuck by me. All of my guys, all of my family and friends are here. It's incredible," said the Crittenden, Kentucky, racer, who is in his first full season of national touring racing. "Man, I just kept getting crowded off the corners. When you slide those guys, it's either hit 'em down the straightaway or slide them to let them know you are coming. Man, I'd get runs on those guys and I'd have to calm myself down. My car was not good, but when I hit it right, my car was really good. I just tried to stay focused, and I don't know how clean some of those sliders were on JD. I felt like I owed him one, and I got it back down in three. He apologized afterwards. I think a lot of JD. We've had a lot of good racing here recently," said the 28-year-old racer. Rice explained what went through his mind during the frenetic final laps of the race. "You have no idea how hard it is to be, like, the fans are paying attention. They're just crazy. When I slid him (Davenport) down here, I got all crossed up on the cushion and I cut down on him, and I probably figured he was aggravated about that. All the way down the back chute, I didn't know what to do, whether to slide myself, and I started to think about last night and how out of control I was getting to it. So I guess I will just enter it and prepare to cross, and my right-rear tire hit the cushion just perfectly and it launched me. I knew it was over before it was over, and I'm like, this is perfect. Got the best run that I could ever imagine." Davenport, who was seeking his third career North/South 100 victory, finished second, 0.574 seconds behind Rice. "I can't remember everything that happened. We took off pretty good there. I just hated it for all the guys that got taken out there in that wreck. It definitely changed the complexion of the race. The first time me and Josh got together, I really thought I left him just enough room and he jumped my right front. It was just a racing deal, and I knew he would probably be mad. I was coming back through there after I pitted. I started picking them off. I never could really run the cushion; I got to bouncing a couple of times. I just progressed back up through there and got by Josh again. I thought I was going to be okay, and I got by Devin (Moran) and I got a little excited. I guess we started to really roll through the middle, and I could catch the brown in three and four pretty good. I couldn't circle there and leave pretty good." Morey, who before this weekend had raced only once at Florence in his career, made his first North-South 100 start and rounded out the Big River Steel Podium in third after starting 19th. "Yeah, that was crazy. It was the first North-South for me. I had only been here one other time. I am telling you, it was crazy watching Rice and them go after it and the fans freaking out. - Brandon Davis completes USMTS Show-Me Shootout sweep at Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 8, 2026) - Brandon Davis completed a memorable weekend by completing a sweep Saturday night at the 17th annual Summit USMTS Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout Presented by Foley Equipment. Davis, of Hayfield, Minn., took the lead away from Tanner Mullens on lap 30 and went on to win $5,000 prizes on back-to-back nghts at Lucas Oil Speedway. Moreover, it was Davis' fifth straight USMTS victory. "Heck no. I've never gotten five of these in one season," Davis said of his streak in victory lane. "I haven't raced with them as much, but these guys are good. This car is just really good right now." Other feature winners on the program were Robbe Ewing (Hermitage Lumber Late Models), Jon Sheets (Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mods) and Rodney Schweizer (O'Reilly USRA Stock Cars). Davis started seventh and gradually worked his way toward the front as Mullens, of Wichita, Kan., set the pace. Mullens built the lead to 1.6 seconds by lap eight with Davis rallying into third by lap 17, three seconds behind the leader. Davis got around Stevens for second two laps later and began to slice into Mullens' margin. Mullens led Davis by 1.8 seconds at the halfway mark in a race that had remained caution-free. Davis continued to quickly gain and was within .420 seconds as caution flew on lap 25 for Gary Christian's spin. Wolff was running third with Jim Chisholm fourth and Stevens fifth. The restart saw Mullens retain the lead, but another caution appeared on lap 27 for 24th-running Ryan Murphy's spin in turn two. Wolff and Davis swapped second the next couple of leaps. Then it was Davis' turn to take his first lead, sliding around Mullens out of turn four on lap 30. That would be the winning move en route to his 16th career USMTS triumph. "Tanner was kind of moving around and defending and I thought I might catch him sleeping on the outside," Davis said. "I actually ended up getting on the bottom and then doing the slider. This thing is so good. It's crazy. "I came here here a couple of different times for some big shows and thought I was never going to get the job done. To get it done against these guys it's just surreal." Davis said his pursuit of a USMTS championship will continue with one car and one motor, plus a borrowed truck and hauler from a lifelong friend. "I don't know if I sealed my tire up or what," Mullen said. "But I don't think it would have mattered. He's a lot better than us right now. We just have to work on it and get better." Before he could clear to a lead of any margin, caution appeared again on lap 31, leading Davis nine laps to hold off Mullens, Wolff and fourth-place Rodney Sanders. With three cars battling for second after the restart, Davis quickly opened a 1.7-second lead - but that's when another caution slowed the field with five laps remaining. The additional restart didn't matter as Davis cruised once action resumed, beating Mullens by about 10 car lengths. Sanders finished third with Chisholm fourth and Jake Timm fifth after starting 22nd. "We're steady," Sanders said of his finish. "Congrats to Brandon. He's really good right now." There were 45 USMTS cars on hand for the second straight night. Nic Bidinger set fast qualifying time in Group A at 16.628 seconds with Tyler Wolff pacing Group B at 16.721. Ewing wires Late Model field: Robbe Ewing of Stockton led all 20 laps, but had to withstand a restart midway through the event, to earn the Hermitage Lumber Late Model feature. It was Ewing's second feature win of the season as he cut into division points leader JC Morton at the top of the standings. Ewing started on the pole and led the way, opening a half-second margin over Cole Henson when caution flew on lap nine. After action resumed, Ewing cleared away to a 1.2-second leader over Henson with Kaeden Cornell another second behind on lap 15. Ewing took it home from there, finishing two seconds in front of Henson with Cornell coming home in third. "I didn't know where anybody was at," Ewing said of his competitors. "I kept seeing some noses down here but just tried to stay as smooth and as clean as I could. The track crew did another great job tonight." Tyler went from ninth to fourth and Dustin Atkinson wound up fifth after starting 14th. B-Mod sweep completed by Sheets: Jon Sheets of Nevada, completed a Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mod two-night sweep, leading all 20 laps for his fifth victory at the track this season and 10th win overall. "It's never easy," Sheets said. "We were lucky to get the lead early. Track position was a key tonight. We weren't uber good down through one and two, but three and four was so technical that you had to keep your car straight and catch that moisture on the way off. "I had one goal tonight and that was not make our guys work so. We had both ends knocked off last night I don't think anything tonight, so that's always a good night." Sheets rolled from the start by had a 1.1-second lead over Cayden Stacye midway through the 20-lapper. In a race without a caution after a lone yellow after lap one, Sheets prevailed by one second. Tyler Potter was third with Mike Striegel fourth and Colson Kirk fifth. Schweizer wins Stock Cars feature: Rodney Schweizer of Kansas City, Kan., took the lead on lap four and rolled to the O'Reilly's USRA Stocks cars victory, beating Friday night winner Jaylen Wettengel by 3.2 seconds. The fifth-starting Wettengel fell back to seventh early before rolling back into contention, taking over second by lap 10. While he was second-best this time, he was no match for Schweizer who found Lucas Oil Speedway victory lane for the first time this season. "He;'s always good here," Schweizer said of Wettengel. "(Johnny) Fennewad is good here. There's a lot of good drivers here and we're just fortunate that we came out on top tonight."
