- Pierce Wins Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Adams County Debut
CORNING, IA (July 14, 2026) - Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Illinois, charged from the 12th starting position to pass Nick Hoffman for the lead on lap 35 and race to a $15,000 victory in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series debut at Adams County Speedway on Tuesday night. The victory came in the biggest race in the speedway's history and marked the first appearance by a national touring series at Adams County Speedway since the Hav-A-Tampa Racing Series competed there on August 22, 2000. Garrett Alberson slipped past Hoffman coming to the white flag to finish second, while Hoffman, whose car developed mechanical issues over the final 10 laps, held on to complete the Big River Steel Podium in third after leading 26 of the race's 40 laps. Hoffman narrowly held off Brian Shirley, who earned Hoker Trucking Hard Charger honors after advancing from the 18th starting position to finish fourth. Mike Marlar rounded out the top five. New track record holder Dillon McCowan, seeking his third consecutive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory, jumped to the early lead and paced the opening eight laps before Hoffman took over on lap nine. The pair battled out front until Pierce began his charge through the field. After McCowan slipped off the racing surface in turn two while running fourth, Pierce moved into second following an intense battle with Alberson and Marlar. Pierce then tracked down Hoffman, exchanging the lead before taking over for good on lap 35 despite navigating through oil from Hoffman's ailing machine. The victory was Pierce's 31st career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumph and his second series win of the 2026 season, adding to his Show-Me 100 victory on Memorial Day weekend. "I don't know if I could have caught him (Hoffman). When I got to second, that's when I saw him smoking and that was the first time I finally got clean air between me and him. I thought, 'I've got to track down the No. 9,' and I could see the smoke," Pierce said. "I'm surprised he held on that long. I don't know what his issue was, but it was obviously an oil line. It was oil and not tire smoke because it was getting on my shield. It was creating a slick patch, and every time I followed him off the corner I would lose ground. He was hanging on. You don't want to see that happen because maybe we could have raced it out. If he didn't have issues, it would have been tough. I'm not sure, but we'll never know." Alberson capitalized on Hoffman's troubles with an aggressive move entering turn three on the final lap to secure the runner-up finish. "After not getting the start I wanted in the heat race, Dillon (McCowan) did a really good job and it didn't put us back too far. Starting fifth was good," Alberson said. "Hats off to Adams County. This track was awesome. It was cool to see all of these fans out here, and I hope everybody had a good time because I really enjoyed the race track. "I got lucky, and I hate it for Nick that he was having problems. I did such a bad job timing that last restart that I didn't think I even had a shot at third. I got one good run off turn two that kept me ahead of Mikey (Marlar), then I saw Nick slowing into turn three, so I just sent it in there." Hoffman, the reigning C.J. Rayburn Memorial winner at Brownstown Speedway, was looking for his second career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory before mechanical issues derailed his bid. "I got out front and my crew was showing me I had a decent lead, so I was just trying to save my tires and keep the temperatures under control," Hoffman said. "Then Bobby started coming, the gap closed, and I had to start hustling the car. He slid me, and after a couple of laps of running really hard the temperature got pretty hot. "When that caution came out, I really didn't want to see it because the car got hot under yellow. I was able to cool it back down and it still had oil pressure at the finish. I don't know if it burned a piston or what happened, but it started laying down over the last few laps." Pierce's winning Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Vic Hill Racing Engine and sponsored by Low Voltage Solutions, Rio Grande Waste Services, Churchill Transport, Collins Brothers Towing, Precision Cabinets, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Carnaghi Towing, Fort Knox Safes and Vaults, and First Farmers State Bank. Completing the top 10 were Brandon Sheppard, Brandon Overton, Max Blair, Devin Moran, and Dan Ebert. - Bryce Lucius stuns sprint car world...wins Brad Doty Classic at Attica
ATTICA, Ohio - Bryce Lucius - just 19 years old - shocked the sprint car world Tuesday at the 38th Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic Presented by dac Vitamins and Minerals, earning his first ever World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series win at Attica Raceway Park. The 2023 national 410 rookie of the year - in just his third night out in the family owned #32 after parting ways with another team in May - took advantage when leader Kyle Larson, a three time Doty Classic winner - jumped the cushion in turns three and four and flipped. Lucius led the final eight laps and had to deal with lapped traffic in the last corner, to score his fourth career Attica win over Logan Schuchart, Buddy Kofoid, Tanner Thorson and David Gravel in front of a standing room only crowd. "I can't even explain how this feels. Hats off to my dad, Landon, Wayne, Roman, my mom and everyone who helps out on this thing. Kyle basically just out drove me. He was going to win that until he hit that rut. This is our third night back together…I'm speechless. Landon, Wayne, Roman and my dad had this thing so good…I was just had to be the idiot to hold the wheel," said Lucius beside his Big Red Truck Wash, J Badger HVAC, L&L Land Solutions, Truck Worx of Ohio, 87/40 Suspensions, Smith Titanium backed #32. Lucius, who earned $20,000 for his victory, will be at Eldora the rest of the week in the Curt Michael and Mike Heffner in the 27H team. For Schuchart it was another podium finish at Attica after starting on the pole. "We had a couple of chances but we were kind of just too tight the entire race. We made some changes and just went the wrong way and I'll take the blame for that. Super tight in the beginning and as the fuel burned off it got a little better and I could hang with Kyle and Bryce in the middle of the race. I couldn't rotate the corner and keep the left rear down and getting on the gas and picking the front end up. I had to be conservative and stay out of the gas exiting the corners and it hurt me. Bryce did an awesome job. To win your first Outlaw race in front of your hometown crowd…that's pretty awesome," said Schuchart beside his Duramax/Federated Auto Parts/Mark Martin Motors/TKS Concrete/Shark Racing backed #1S. Defending Brad Doty Classic winner Carson Macedo jumped into the lead of the 40-lap feature over Schuchart, Lucius, Kofoid, David Gravel and Larson. Lucius drove into second on lap 13. The next three laps saw a tremendous battle between Macedo and Lucius, who took the lead, bringing Larson to second. Larson got sideways exiting turn two on lap 18 and Macedo had nowhere to go and took a tumble. On the restart Lucius led Larson, Schuchart, Kofoid and Gravel. Just past half way, Larson and Lucius traded sliders for the lead with Larson taking the top spot on lap 23. With just eight laps to go Larson caught the cushion hard in turns three and four and got upside down. Lucius took off on the ensuing restart but caught the back of the field on the final lap allowing Schuchart to close but it was too little too late as Lucius scored what some consider the biggest upset in World of Outlaws history. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, July 24 with the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products 410 Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group in action along with the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS 305 Sprints and the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Models in Action. - 2027 Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout Times, Dates, and Event Information
Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (July 14, 2026) While the world is focused on chasing track and series titles through the Summer, the race to Tulsa is always on everyone's mind. Getting things ready for the 42nd edition of the "Mecca of Micros", the Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy Drink will take place inside the SageNet Center at Expo Square, December 29, 2026, through January 2, 2027. REGISTRATION: Drivers can start signing up on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, with the early registration discount expiring on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. The early entry fee is $100/class entered. After that, registration is $125/class entered through Wednesday, December 16, 2026. After that, all registration will be closed until Sunday, December 27, 2026, at the SageNet Center. Drivers will be able to register online at http://www.tulsashootout.com. During the pre-entry process, all entries must be done online. If not entered before the December 16 deadline, those will be processed at the SageNet Center. As always, regarding car numbers. We do not allow reflective numbers. If your numbers are borderline or not readable, you will need to fix them. You will be given one warning during practice to fix your numbers. Numbers not fixed by race time will result in disqualification, and you will not be allowed to enter the racetrack. Non-Wing Classes must have a number on the nose of your car. The letter must be above the number and legible. Winged Classes must have numbers on both sideboards. All cars must have legible numbers on the tail tank. Car numbers are a max of three digits. That includes the use of a letter. For example, a car can be No. 100, or No. 10x. Not No. 100x. Remember, we have three people hand scoring because sometimes the transponder system does go down, they fall off the car, or just stop working. We need to be able to read all car numbers so you are not scored incorrectly and also to speed up time under caution. It also helps our infield crew to move cars around when a RACEceiver malfunctions. Contrast is important. Black on black with a hint of grey is not readable when a car is in motion, especially from a distance. Finally, once your number is published on the Tulsa Shootout website, it will not be changed. If you do not correctly fill out the required number selection, the Tulsa Shootout will assign a number to you, and it will not be changed. PARKING: Early Parking will begin pulling into the SageNet Center on Saturday, December 26, and finish on Sunday, December 27. Those teams who were on the early parking list for 2026 will be sent an email in July, and will have until September 1, 2026 to confirm. At the SageNet Center, parking will follow the same procedures as the 2026 event, where teams will need to check in and retrieve a packet. Anyone who has not paid by the time parking begins must do so before being allowed to pull in. Anyone with questions about early parking or to get on the waiting list, please contact Cody Cordell at (918) 407-1879. - CHRISTIE CAPTURES THE FLAG IN SOS RETURN TO MERRITTVILLE
THOROLD, Ont. (July 11, 2026) - The Southern Ontario Sprints made a blistering return to Merrittville Speedway on Saturday night. D.J. Christie scored the victory, leading flag-to-flag in the 25 lap feature. D.J. Christie and Jacob Dykstra brought the field to the green flag in a race that turned out to be free of caution flags. Christie jumped out to an early lead ahead of Dykstra, Darren Dryden, Josh Hansen, and Travis Cunningham. As Christie paced the field and started to catch traffic, Dykstra started to eat into the second and a half gap that Christie had built between the top two. The traffic proved just as challenging for Dykstra as it had been for Christie, who found clean air again after lapping past five cars. Hansen ran down Dryden and appeared to have the pace run down the front two, but he sustained damage to his front wing which slowed his progress. Christie claimed the win and took over at the top of the SOS championship points standings. Dykstra and Hansen rounded out the podium, while Dryden finished fourth, and Kyle Phillips took fifth from Cunningham in the closing laps. The entire 25 lap feature was run in a little over six and a half minutes. Heat race wins went to Dykstra, Cory Turner, and Hanson, while Aaron Turkey was the fastest driver in qualifications. - Pokorski mixes well with Outlaws
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 - Accumulating experience against the top drivers and teams in the Winged Sprint Car Racing world has been a focus of the 2026 season for Alex Pokorski and GR8 Team. Making a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A main was at the top of the season goal list. Pokorski and the GR8 Team successfully checked that box during a doubleheader weekend with the Outlaws at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11. The weekend fired off on a tough note for Pokorski when he clipped the turn-two wall on the opening lap of his qualifying effort on Friday. After failing to record a qualifying time, the West Bend, Wis. native started at the rear of the first heat race. A seventh-place heat race effort placed him in the sixth starting position for the Outlaws Last Chance Showdown (B Main). Pokorski ended up finishing sixth in the 12-lap event to miss out on advancing to the A main by two positions. With a clean slate on Saturday, July 11, Pokorski and the GR8 crew hit their stride, qualifying 17th in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.831 seconds around the tricky three-eighths semi-banked clay oval. After starting sixth in heat 2, Pokorski dueled with 10-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz for the final A-main transfer spot during the 8-lap race. In the end, Pokorski got the best of the Sprint Car legend to earn a berth in his first career World of Outlaws main event. Pokorski's A-main effort was hampered by a wing issue after launching from the 17th starting spot in the 35-lap main event. After retreating to the work area to fix the problem, Pokorski returned to score a 21st-place finish in his World of Outlaws main event debut. "The weekend got off to a quite frustrating start, after catching a rut and putting it in the wall Friday for qualifying," Pokorski said. "We improved a lot with some extra help in the pits on Saturday. It was fun to race with [Donny] Schatz in the heat race for the feature transfer spot. Our A main started well. But, I had to go to the work area due to losing a bolt in the wing slider. Later on, I faded a bit. Overall, we improved a lot and made the feature, which was our goal entering the night." After taking the upcoming weekend off, Pokorski and the GR8 Team will head west with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., on Friday, July 24, before heading to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial on Saturday, July 25. Pokorski recorded a 410 Sprint Car career-best second-place showing in last year's Jerry Richert Memorial IRA event at Cedar Lake Speedway. Both races will be streamed live on floracing.com The Alex Pokorski-GR8 Team 2026 sponsorship partners are Petersen Septic Systems; GR8; Mulch Express of Wisconsin; Lynch Buick, GMC of West Bend; Goeden Auto Body; Novak's Service Center; KP Repair, Service, and Fabrication; Germaine/Paul Kaphingst & Susie; Triple X Chassis; CSI Shocks; Hepfner Racing Products; and Pedal Down Promotions.
