ATTICA, Ohio - Cale Thomas and Park Price Miller waged an epic battle Friday at Attica Raceway Park, trading slide jobs and exchanging the lead several times over the past hand full of laps. Thomas, from Fairland, Indiana, was able to hold on for his second win of the season at Attica on Five Star Maintenance/FE Krocka/Sutton Bank Night by just .017 seconds.
For Thomas, it's his second win since moving into the Bryan Grove Racing #45 seat and his eighth career win at Attica.
Zeth Sabo led the first 15 laps of the 30 lap Callie's Performance Products 410 A-main before Thomas took over. Price Miller took the lead on lap 24 and 25 with Thomas regaining the top spot on laps 26 and 27 while Price Miller moved back to the front on lap 28. Thomas slid back into the lead as the white flag flew and held on for the win over Price Miller, Cap Henry, Sabo and Larry Kingseed rounding out the top five.
"You didn't want to be in the lead of that one. I hope the fans enjoyed that one because that was awesome racing between me and Parker. It was mind games like 'is he going high am I going high.' I thought I faked the bottom that last corner enough and I was going to slide across because I thought he'd get a run…no he stuck the bottom and tricked me…it was awesome," said Thomas beside his CEI Crane & Rigging, Bakers Mobile Home Transportation, Starret Services, TR Crane & Towing, Ron Jacobs Trucking, Premier Pallet backed machine.
"Bryan was in between drivers and obviously my deal didn't work out…it was a perfect reunion. We talked years ago and I ended up in the 49 and Tim (Shaffer) ended up in the 45 so it was my time to be in the 45 too," added Thomas.
To say it's been a challenging year for Bellevue, Ohio's Ryan Missler is a huge understatement. The five time Attica late model champion was winless in 2026. That all came to an end Friday in a caution filled 25 lap Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Model A-main.
Missler led the first 10 laps only to see Todd Brennan slip by on lap 11. Missler regrouped and took the lead back on lap 12 and drove to his 21st career Attica win over Brennan, Devin Shiels, Doug Drown and JR Gentry.
"Praise Jesus! I've been here a lot in the past but it's been forever since we have been on the horse track here. I really didn't know where to run. I have to thank Dave, Evan, Amber and the kids and everyone who helps out on this thing. I think we're finally getting this thing to where I feel comfortable," said Missler beside his Weekley Electric, Jimmy Dean Chicks, The Shortstop, Jackson Farms, Kepling Flooring, Handy Grafix, York Fabrication, SCS Gearbox, George Lee Racing, Napa of Bryan, Stakt Panels, Keizer Wheels, Missler Industries, Missler's Sweets backed #50.
Jake Hesson led the first three laps of the Fremont Fence 305 Sprint A-main but spun, handing the top spot to Kasey Ziebold. Ziebold held the point until lap 14 when Brenden Torok slipped by and drove to his second career Attica win and his second victory of the season at the track. Ziebold, Bryan Sebetto, Seth Schneider and Dustin Dinan rounded out the top five in a race that saw only one caution during the 25-lap affair.
"First and foremost I have to thank Kyle from Midwest Dyno. We went there last week and got this motor all tuned up. It had been stumbling on the start. I was surprised to keep the pace with Kasey as fast as the track was," said Torok beside his Modern Poured Walls, Beane Realtors, Greber Race Components, Dynatech, 5K Roofing, Milton Trucking, KMU Trucking, Grafton VFW Post 3341, Lorenzo's Pizza, Schaefer's Oil by Dennis Morlock backed #2.
